My family is very small but out of my 3 kids I have to say I'm closest to my son even though I don't see him as often as I see my daughter. He lives closest but he works more hours than she does. For some reason, maybe it's because he's the baby, I've always felt closer to him than to either one of my girls. Now, to hear him tell it he's feels closer to my daughter who lives in CA and I've been trying to figure that one out since he said it last night.
Who are you closest to in your family? Is there one person more than the others?

Well with families it changes daily..I was close to my middle son but hes pouting now over whatever he thought up in his mind( hes bipolar) so i have always been close to him..but now that he is pouting i don't know..My oldest son lives 300.00 from me and he is in his own world, you cannot say anything to him because he streaches everything you say, but we are close enough...My two daughters are close to me,but they are touchy,so you have to be careful what you say.I would say my youngest son.We can talk for hours, get into deep discussions and we have a very open and good relationship...We can talk and express our opinions and it never goes out of the 4 walls. We can talk about everything...so i would say he is the one i can really be ME around, and his wife too, shes like us..My brother and i are close ,very close, and we see each other all the time...Even though i love all my kids and we have a good relationship, and my kids are good to me,there is just some you cannot be your self around...

I hate having to be so careful about what I say to some family members and believe me there are a lot of them in my family. The first one who comes to mind is an aunt...my mothers sister. I cringe when her name comes up on my caller id!

I know, i have that problem too..It would seem that family members would be the type you could talk too,but not so ,some of them are so touchy, and if you just say something, anything its like they are the "town cryer" they tell the world and by the time it gets back to you,it has become a whole different story..

I am closest with my cousin. Ever since her family lived with us (twice) in the 60's, we have become more like sisters, except without the sibling rivalry. She is the main reason I moved back to Illinois from New York, as she has a terminal illness and I need to be near her for support. She became too ill when I was 700+ miles away. She always tells me I am keeping her alive by just being here, as I am corny and make her laugh alot. I don't know if I am keeping her alive. She is a very strong person and I think she just refuses to give in to her disease. Whatever the case, I am blessed that she is still alive and kickin'.
PEACE

Yes, I believe you are blessed that she is still alive but she is also blessed to have you as a cousin.

At the moment my daughter and she feels the same toward me. I have three sons and up until two years ago we were all really close then some bad things happened and some are estranged by choice from the others which breaks my heart. Because I love all my children and want to stay close to them and have them be close like they were. Pray for this and know sooner or later it will happen.

I was estranged from my daughter and granddaughter for more years than I like to think about and it was only because of the relationship my daughter was in. Thankfully she has been out of it for a year now and we are working on getting closer.

I would say that i'm likely closest to my brother.. he is only 2 years younger than me, so we can relate to things well.. we were both involved, and still are involved in athletics, and that creates an even better bond between the two of us.

My sister and I have less than 2 years between us and we never got along. My daughters have the same amount between them and they got along pretty well. Now my middle daughter lives in CA and it's not easy for them to be close although they try.

I guess my mom is the closest one to me because she has this special way of making people like her! She pays attention to what I say and we mostly don't have arguments.. mostly! She also spent most of my childhood with me.. quit her job to stay home "with the kids" while my father was in the army!
Most of my psychical attributes are inherited from my mother (way of thinking, weaknesses) while my physical attributes belong to my father (they say I look exactly as him when he was my age)!
I think it's very common that boys like their moms most.. because women are most of the times more understanding than men and much more compassionate and that's what a child needs!

Isn't it funny the way that works? The boys are always closer to their moms and the girls to their Dads. That's how it was with me when my Dad was alive.

I would say my mom. She lives in Florida. I live in Missouri and we are always on the phone or web cam. It wasn't always that way, and now as an adult and mother myself I appreciate her alot more and am glad we are close.

Isn't the web cam the best thing that ever happened for people with loved ones far away? My daughter in CA and I do it all the time and I love it.

I think i love everyone in my family. I love my mom, but she nags sometimes. I love Dad. And I love my sister, it's because we go through almost same problems. And then there is my Aunt, who lives in another state but when we meet, its doesn't matter how much time has gone. We have loads of things to talk about.
Do they love back? Yes. They do.

I would say I'm closest to my son who is the furthest away - not because I favor him but because my daughter and I lock horns alot and my youngest and oldest sons are both so much like me but won't admit it that we tend to butt heads alot - ok I will admit I a lot of Irish in me and tend to be bull headed at times :( Although I prefer to say I am 'determined'.

It's much the same for me. I always got along better with my daughter who lives in CA than my daughter here in MA.

i'm closest to my sister in my family. i can tell her pretty much anything and trust her with it and she knows she can tell me anything and trust me with it. she'd also say that i'm who she's closest to. it just has gotten harder because up until mid-october i lived at home. so we were always together. but now i live about 6 1/2hours away. it's hard. but technology helps keep us in contact almost 24/7 still.

I would say that i am neither close to any of my parents i feel more close to my brothers and sisters. I guess its the way that my parents brought me up but now they r trying to get close without realising that it might just be too late.

Growing up my brother and I were really really close. When I went to college we drifted a lot. Then I got married and well...our relationship isn't as good as it used to be and I miss him a lot. I doubt he would say we are close. He talks to my mom a lot more now...

In my family my closest family member is my father,I like him because he always encourage me when I am at school and now in the society.I can talk to him just like best friend. But my monther is different, she always teaches me how to be a good girl,a good wife, and how to clean the house, how to cook.HA..HA..I always argue with her about the different idea on samll things. If I say my father is wise, then I can say mom is traditional. However,I conversation a little with my elder brother, because he always leave home, and leave me at home alone.Ha..ha..

I'm definitely closest to my mom and I think she feels that way about me too. We're so much alike. And now that I'm an adult, we're very much friends as well as mother and daughter. I love my dad and brother too, but sometimes it feels like we're speaking different languages.

I have many members from my family with who I'm close, they all had and have an important role in my life, without them I wouldn't make this far in my life. The first person is my mother she alone raised me 15 years and she is in Italy trying to make money to ensure my future, I really miss her but thanks God she calls us everyday 4-5 times. The second closest person is the sister of my mother, now i live with her along with her family and she is the sweetest person I've ever seen(she is like my mom, always willing to help others, sense of humor, protective etc etc). The others and not the last are the husband and the children of my aunt. I've become their brother, son, nephew in their family. They care for my a lot, my uncle is is filling the role of father in my life, his daughter and his son help me more than ever. I really own them a lot. these are my closest friends, soul-mate and family and I truly thank God for blessing me by making my a part of their family. they all together are my life and they help me to built my life. I can't imagine not even days without them. I'm so happy that I have them. OK I have to stop otherwise I'll start crying of joy.

Without a doubt, ctry, it would be my youngest daughter. Funny, but had you asked me that a few years ago, I would have said my oldest daughter. We had always been very close-even in age(only 17 years apart), but the dynamic has changed lately. I believe it is because my youngest sees me more often than the others do, and she understands that I am aging. The others seem to take me for granted more. I think if you were to ask my youngest she would say that she is closest to me also.
