If you werew purchasing online and had the option of paying using a credit card (on a secure site) or Paypal, which would you choose?

I agree, I was just reading about Paypal offering a secure virtual mastercard option soon link to the paypal account, I think this will be a great idea!! I sell ebooks on line an have been wondering if I should approach a bank about getting a merchant facility. I know that Paypal have one, but I get several emails a day from people saying they don't trust Paypal or have a Paypal account.

don't trust paypal? that's odd. paypal is definitely secure. i've actually never heard any bad stories about paypal.

I know. I'm like you, I trust Paypal without any problems what-so-ever. The first time I had someone tell me that they didn't trust Paypal I was shocked. I think it might be that they have never used it before and the idea of giving their bank account details to add funds is just a little scary to them. I suppose when I started using it, I was adding money from PPC sites, so if it didn't work then it was only time I'd lost.

I would use pay pal - I don't have a credit card but even if I did, I'd probably stick to pay pal.

I don't have one either. I arranged for all mine to be canceled when I was completing a loan application and realised I had over $35k in credit cards. My annual income at the time was $32k. Was pretty scary and sobering thought.

i would choose paypal. or i would buy one of those credit cards where you put money on it. that way if someone steals your info they cannot do anything with it if you only have a minimal amount on it.
