Are we gonna run out of gas and use something else to fuel up with?

My husband tells me that in like 2020 we will run out of gas, and then we will have to switch to something else to run cars with. Is this true? He often tells me things as a joke because he knows that I will believe him. I can never tell when it is a joke or if he is serious.

Given the unpredictable nature of that, it could happen but then again it might not. The only way we'll find out is having to wait until then. I think they have developed electric cars but I am not sure on that. It's a matter of what happens between now and then. I would probably say I wouldn't take it seriously until it gets closer to that time.

Honestly nobody knows when we will run of gas or I should say oil. But read this that I found regarding this.

I think it is possible because more people and products are being transported that ever before. It seems real efforts to find alternative fuels will only start when a crisis is coming. Some car companies have hybrid technologies and are trying to improve consumption, but the technology is too expensive and is not advancing fast enough.

2020 sounds a little soon. Are you married to Al Gore?
Eventually we will run out but if we really wanted to we could have solar and electric cars right now. I forget what report it was but the richest companies in the world all have something to do with oil.
