What flavor icecream would you use for home made milk shakes?

If I were going to make homemade milk shakes, I would probably use chocolate brownie icecream and add some peanut butter. Or, maybe I'd use a peanut butter flavor icecream. I love peanut butter, can you tell? And, then I'd add crushed Oreos or chocolate chips, so it would be more like a DQ Blizzard. Of course, I'd have to eat the milk shake with a spoon. But, it would be worth it.
Anyway, I'm not sure how to make homemade milk shakes, so I guess I'll have to keep dreaming about them. I don't trust the milk shakes that you get from the restaurants. You never know what's in the stuff. What flavors of icecreams would you use if you were making home made milk shakes? Do you think that you could make a tastier milk shake than McDonalds?

I have used Chocolate and Vanilla, I have used Strawberry too. Mostly I use Vanilla because you can add berries or other fruit like peaches or cherries or add things like peanut butter or oreo cookies or other things to it.

When I used to get milk shakes from McDonalds, I found them too sweet, and not like what I like. It had a sticky consistency. I put ice cream in a blender, and just add enough milk to make it the consistency I like. Actually, nowadays I use a stick blender. I like your peanut butter chocolate combinations. I often make a shake or smoothie with frozen overripe bananas, chocolate syrup, peanut butter and ice cream-usually vanilla. Like I said, I just blend it, and keep adding a little milk to it to reach the consistency I like. I like DQ shakes much better than McDonalds. I also like shakes from Sonic, and from Braums. Braums is kind of regional. Home office in Oklahoma, I know that they are in Kansas, and Texas, and I am pretty sure a few other places. Really excellent dairy and meat products. Good quality control. Very fattening.

Hi,there! Well,as what I mentioned in one of my discussions,I'm big on ice cream.I like many flavors. If I make milk shakes at home,I'll choose the strawberry flavor as well as vanilla flavor. They taste pretty nice with the milk.Actually I like milk shakes better these days.It just feels very nice:) I'm not sure whether I can make a tastier milk shae than McDonalds.I just love the milk they use.It seems it's full of the milk flavor.LOL! But I'll try to improve my skill and I hope I can do better every time^_^ Thanks for the discussion and best regards!

I use vanilla ice cream for all my homemade milk shakes, regardless of whether I am making chocolate or strawberry ones. I like to add real fruits for the natural flavours in my milk shake than add those with their flavouring in the ice cream. :-)

I usually use vanilla ice cream, and add strawberries or blueberries.
