Reason For Punishment....Karmic Way.

Ageless Wisdom says that whatever pain or suffering you are going thru right now is because of your past karma. I believe in this. However, one question which keeps coming to my mind is that: If I am paying for my sins (done in the past), shouldnt I be knowing for what wrond deeds I am paying off? If I dont know the mistake for which I am paying, there is possibility that I may commit the same mistake again and this karmic cycle may continue.
For Ex: When my boss or my parents in anyways want to punish me or depromote me, I would like to know the conceret reason. If I dont get the concrete reason, I may not even accept the punishment. Dont you think, this same policy should be applicable to our karmic cycle as well? Dont you think, you should know for what you are paying? Dont you think, we as a human has that right? If the nature has made this karmic cycle, why do you think he had not made provision for us to know why we are suffering? What would be idea behind this!????
Help me understand this!!!!

I believe in karma too, and right now i feel the karma. I have no problems to know what i am punished for. The trick is to ask YOURSELF, why that problem came to you, why do u feel this way. Just listen to urself, what first thought comes to ur mind, because karma is not only in this life but also in past lives. So the punishment may be from Ancient times. By the way discovering past life is fascinating too. It can answer many question about ur present life. I have many time questioned myself why some thing are happening, i know now, but i still cant solve some of m probelms.

No one has ever shown they know any convincing details of a previous life. The whole idea of reincarnation is incoherent; ask yourself this? What is it that survives the reincarnation, certainly not the self, since the self has no knowledge of any previous life. Therefore, any previous existence was not you. Therefore the idea that you might suffer in this life for the actions of another self is evil. This is an evil doctrine that keeps millions living in suffering and oppression

for u it is incoherent, for me it is a problem-solver. every-sef has knowladge, just look deep in ur opinions and u will understand, even ur opinion that u dont wanna beleve in past lives shows that in ur past life was something wrong and u deceided to not believe in that. For everything there is an answer. How to stop suffer from karma? Forgive urself all the bad things u've done and forgive others, then u have no reason to suffer, and remebering past life is the way to stop being punishing for what u have done. (that's my opinion and it helps me improving my life)

Ha you rogue! You are saying if I don't accept Karma then it is because I did something bad in a previous life. This is the lie told those oppressed millions in India to justify their suffering.
You are deluded in thinking you have knowledge of a previous life, all claims to have such knowledge have been discredited.

Karma, a system that could only be set up by a Evil and Malevolent god. That I should be punished or rewarded for the actions of a person who to all intents and purposes is not me (since I am ignorant of them) is by definition unjust.
Really it is an excuse to appease the guilt of the rich and powerful and justify their oppression of the weak and poor.
Where do we find believe in Karma? In that den of iniquity India, where 60 million people are oppressed and abused in the most inhuman manner because of the caste system into which they were born.
This is an outrage that should offend the hearts and minds of the world

Urban...
U r relating Karma to the macro cycle...I agree many indians uses this explaination to to justify their act (like caste discrimintation). However, I was talkin more on in the micro level...like for me, when I am not gettin wot I want or I am suferring from a pain for reason or fault of mine!!!
Anyways I think now India and Indians are maturing a lot...and they are tryin to put caste discrimination behind...but there are few elements in our society to would drag religion and caste into the picture just to earn some brownie points....

Lovely discussion, I think we all know when we do something wrong. Unless of course we have so hardened our heart that we no longer can hear the inter voice in us warning us that what we are doing or about to do is wrong. Karma, God, or what ever you wish to call it sends to things downward to us, blessings and correction. There is a way to bring the two together though in a third steam, but most of us live in the two streams. They both work to bring us into the divine will of Creator. If we were to listen to our inter voice more we could determin the devine will, unfortunitly most of us are too inlove with ourselves and our own thoughts to hear any other voice. We must shead EGO, and be more involved with the mind of the creator, all of us do what brings pleasure to us, we would not move unless we do it for ego. if I am setting an become uncomfortable I move, becouse of EGO, only actions without any reward can shed our egos. By doing this we wreap the rewards and blessings instead of the corrections. At anytime we can short cycle this by denighing our ego, and becoming more like the creator.

Karma has long been born from the ancient.In its essence, it connotes the social stigma of vendetta due to inflicted pain caused from wrong doing...In spiritual scenario, SINS of MEN caused that to MANY and its effect go on and on if the cycle wouldn't be BROKEN.But there is hope to all mankind.The turn about of effects of sins would only vanish if PEOPLE will have a STRONG FAITH and carry their OWN CROSS.Though only human to commit mistakes, don't let others be BURDENED by your own CROSS. Learn to spare and sacrifice and pray for a Positive energy to come to your LIFe so that less mistakes or sins are committed then the cause and effect of SIN would not take over our lives.TRY to KNOW THYSELF,and as
in the saying that we are making our own destiny by choice and by freewill.So if one wants to wallow on the effects of sins, it is by choice but all of what we are, are the RESULT of what we thought and do.
