If you're teaching in the grade school, the best way is to prepare interesting and colorful activities that children would find enjoyable and engaging. This is a way to prevent misbehaviors and/or talking in class as they would be busy with these activities. Then, set reasonable rules for children to understand and follow. Be sure to reward good behavior. Explain, talk, discuss with the children about why good behavior is expected of them. Talk to the parents, too. They can be of help. The seating arrangement is also a way to prevent misbehaviors. Seat talkative or noisy children in front, give them leadership responsibilities, call their attention in more positive ways...and the most important, listen to them..understand their needs...be more of a facilitator instead of a person in authority in class...try them...hope they work...Good luck.
