How do you spend your time during winter storms when you can't get out.

Now that winter is finally here and the weather is not always so nice for getting out and going places, what do you do to occupy your time?
I don't mind driving in the snow but I do mind driving when it is snowing, more so at night then during the day. The snowflakes doing the "star wars warp speed" thing is really hard on my eyes so I try to arrange activities so that everyone is happy to stay home and safe during the winter.
If there is a news report of a big storm coming in we set up a movie marathon where everyone chooses a DVD of a movie they really want to see. We pop popcorn, make hot chocolate and all enjoy the movies together.
Last year we were snowed in for 3 days straight. The movies were watched and we started getting cabin fever as we did not know what else to do to occupy our time. Any one got any ideas?

I like to cuddle up with a caramel latte, bowl of popcorn, and my knitting needles anytime, so I seldom get board. I'm sure you could could find any number of things to do around the house besides basic housework.
Try cleaning out your basement, organizing your wardrobe, downsizing your key chain collection, potty training your cat, brushing your dog, taking inventory of your pantry, updating your address book on and offline, prepare a few meals in advance, call a friend, write a letter, or play cards.
If you decide to brave a little time outside, there's alway firewood to gather, fences to mend, horses to ride, chickens to feed, and a tractor to dig out of the snow.

What wonderful ideas for things to do. Looks like I am sure gonna be able to make use of some of them since we have had 2 small and 1 large snow storm so far this year. The first one was the worst as the snow was followed by sleet and freezing rain, the second 2 only dumped about 5 inches each time. Last night it was 9 degrees below. If this keeps up I do not plan on going out of the house until the grass turns green again.
