I am trying to start a new library at a very small church. I have no idea how to code the books. Any help?

You can either use the LOC (Library of Congress) system or Dewey Decimal assignment numbers to catalogue your non-fiction books. I would recommend Dewey, since it's easier and more people are familiar with it. However, I would seperate biographies, if you have any, into a seperate biography section, where the books are filed according to the last name of the person on which the biography is written. Works of fiction can simply be filed according to the author's last name.

Study the Dewey Decimal system.
