The age group teachers most enjoy teaching may be as a result of something very influential, memorable or meaningful happening to them at that time in their life.

I enjoy the top mature class, they are easier to teach and tend to understand issues faster. Bcause they read in advance, teaching them through brain storming creates a very exciting teaching atmosphere.

Clearly, I enjoy teaching college more than anything else. I also know that until I get my Masters the opportunities to do so are going to be limited. I've taught students from kindergarten through high school (and beyond) and I'm reasonably certain that I'm most effective teaching high school. I enjoy teaching that level because I find it difficult to adjust my words to be able to effectively communicate with younger students. Most first graders don't have a clue what I'm talking about even when I "dumb it down" several times. At least when high school-aged students complain that they don't understand a word or two I can tell them to look it up because it's likely to be on the SAT. :-)
I think my cutoff age is fourth grade. I can pull off a fourth grade English lesson but trying to correct compositions written by third or second graders makes me cringe.
