Hi everyone. As you can see from my number of posts, I am fairly new to mylot. So far I really like it and I think it is a lot of fun for the most part. However, there is one thing about this site that I have noticed that really peeves me. That is I have noticed that there are a number of people who respond to discussions with answers that have nothing to do with the question that was asked. This happens most often in the 'make more money' interest section. Like I will post a question there asking if anyone can give me instructions or how to work a certain feature in some program which I already belong to, and some people will respond with, go to my profile and join this or that program that they belong to...bla bla bla. In some cases I already belong to the programs they are asking me to join, and even when I don't, I did not ask if anyone had programs I could join, I asked how to do something in a program that I had already joined! I am sure that many people here have programs which they belong to in which they would like more people to join under them, myself included, however, I do not respond to a question which asks how to do something with, please go to my profile and join my programs or whatever. It is not only my discussions, I have read other people's discussions in which someone had asked how to do something or some other question which had nothing to do with asking for programs to join and people have responded to them with, please join my programs or something similar to that and they do not even attemp to answer the question which was asked. Does anyone get annoyed by this or am I alone?

Hi betsyraeduke, I have to agree with you. I'm also new to myLot, and so far have managed to avoid unrelated comments from people in my posts, but when I read other people posts and see them I wonder what these people are on. To me it amounts to spamming. As far as I am concerned if they want to advetise their program, write their own discussion or blog about it.

Thanks for the responses. I am glad that I am not the only one who has noticed this or finds it to be a sort of annoyance

I totally agree with you. I have not been on mylot a lot though I joined a year ago. I get so busy I don't get here all the time. Lately I have had more time. I set a high payout for myself and have not reached it yet but will. Anyway I don't like all these spammers either. I do belong to several other money making sites and I do invite MY contacts from my emails. Some join, many do not. But to get on one site to promote another I feel is unethical and there are quite a few that do that. I have I don't know how many join me or under me from one that started up a couple months back. I did join and ha the payout is NOTHING like everyone claims or I have not seen it. Don't know if they are lying or they have some sort of scam they get away with to make their "alleged big bucks" I do make money on several areas, surveys and other sites $10.00 here. $25 there etc. Some sites give you gift cards instead. All help and slowly add up. But NOT going to be a millionaire doing it. Just helps suppliment my hubbys income and gives me a little extra spending money from time to time. If someone specifically asks me I might send them the information in an email. Good discussion topic

i am new to mylot too.the goal that i join mylot is to learn english not to earn money.once i encountered a man,he said there was a site that you can earn $100 for sending an e-mail,i was very obvious about it.in my opinion.it is unbelievable that we can earn money so easily. Then he told me how to do it,i spent a few hours to do that, but i was failed.in fact,it is a trape, you can not believe it.it made me annoyed.

I know, I get annoyed by that too! And worse of all, it does not appear like there is much you can do about it. Unless of course you can report abuse but I really do not want to rob that person of the chance to earning that 1 cent :-) from the post. So, for me, I rate a minus on their post - hoping when enough people do so, the mylot administrators would take that into account in their algorithm for earnings.

I saw one guy post the same thing on like three different threads I was reading. It was all about trying to make money and sending him money for whatever nonsense. It was definitely annoying. While I haven't been here that long, I get to the point where I'll notice a post like that and then just skip past it without getting to the end. I know all about the sites and can find them in anyone's profile. I get it already.

That is annoying, and people should answer the question or topic as it relates to the question or topic.

I haven't had people give me their links but I do get new people introduce themselves LOL eventhough it has nothing to do with my discussion. I just report the msg that way they lose money and they will stop doing it. People really need to read the TOS as soon as they join so that they know what not to do.

This happens a lot and Mylot admins are constantly working to rid the site of these scammers (or so I've been told). The best thing to do if you see someone doing this is to rate them negatively or report them to Mylot. It'll get taken care of. =)

I haven't run into this yet, but I'm sure that I will eventually. It would upset me too if this were to happen. It's not right!! If you can't respond to the post with an answer pertaining to that post, then you shouldn't respond to it at all!! It's only right!
