exorcism, religious scam or public cleansing?

A man in my church, before he became part of the church worked at the mental hospital here in town. there was one patient that was just uncontrolable, medication only would knock him out, but when he was awake he was dangerous. someone decided to do an exorcism He wasn't sure about it, remember, he wasn't in a church at that time, tho he was starting to lean toward a conserative Christian/Catholic sort of faith. He was amazed. The exorcism happened and the man was changed. Now, that was just one of the exorcisms that happened while he worked there, but he never thought the others were anything more than psychosis. Needless to say, the exorcisms didn't help those people. There are desperate families that can't believe that their family member could be like that without something evil infesting them.

I do not think that they are necessarily mental patients. Temporarily misguided I'll grant you. Religiously brainwashed certainly. But I don't think that they are all crazy and I do not think that they are possessed. Most of them are however, christian because the christian churches are hung up on this demon thing. You would think that the satanic groups would have more interesting possessions but they never seem to have this happen only the christians. It is an interesting phenomina but not one to be made fun of. These people take this very seriously. And are very terrified while it is going on. They really believe in demonic posession and when someone believes that strongly, then no matter what, you have a case of mind over matter and it must be respected.
