So I kept up a bit with the most recent American Idol season and honestly I didn't like any of the contestants besides the girl who looked like Shrek (Oh, I'm only kidding! but I don't know her name..) Well, I heard Jordin Sparks new single, which I'm sure you have as well, and I mean... that song sucks! Her voice sounds like utter crap and it really doesn't sound like her vocal ability is being challenged at all. Not to mention the lyrics/premise of the song... jeez how corny. I know I shouldn't expect anything more out of a show like that but I just thought it was particularly BAD.

The only seasons I really watched were 1,2 and the most recent with Jordin Sparks. I didn't like her too much myself. I really like Carrie Underwood. I think her and Kelly Clarkson were the only two who really got somewhere after their Idol season was over. I didn't really like anyone else though.

Since Kelly's from the first season it doesn't surprise me that anyone would forget.:P She's done really well for herself so you don't think of her as an Idol winner.

I really like Jordin and I like the new song as far as her singing goes. I think that she is doing the songs that she is given and that she hasn't learned yet to find a song that she likes and make it her own.
Taylor Hicks is wonderful at what he does. However, I think that his look is part of his problem and the fact that he does older style music. Kids want rock and nothing else- Daughtery is the kids pick for Idol and I don't like any of the stuff that he has done!

I've yet to be a big fan of anyone from Idol, yet I still watch! I don't like Daughtry or Taylor Hicks. I guess the only contestants I've liked thus far have been Ruben and Carrie Underwood.

Which is her new song? Is it that "tattoo" song? If so, I thought that song was Rihanna, they sound exactly the same to me.

I have always watched American Idol, but this last year sucked, i did not like any of the contestants..I watched it a few times and it did not hold my interest at all...The year before that year i though was great, they had a lot of talent that year. This last year they made me sick with that Sanjaia or whatever his name was ,he look retarded to me....

I never miss AI and I can't wait for next season. They're promising big things and I hope they don't disappoint! I'm not fond of Jordin but as she gets older, she may be more selective in her music and could become "someone". I think Taylor Hicks is mediocre and I've heard better bar bands. The only winning idols that have gone places are Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. I've always liked the underdogs and cheered for Clay Aiken (yes, I admit it!), Daughtry and last year, I hoped that the beatboxer would win. (Blake Lewis)

Agreed, American Idol was a joke this last season, but honestly, I stopped watching after Season 3.

Yeah, I read somewhere that she has the lowest sales in history out of all the Idol winners. I got so bored with this show last season that I stopped watching right about the time Sanjaya was booted, but I had already missed a few now and then because it was just boring me to tears. Ok, which girl looked like Shrek ?

I listened to bits of her songs on Amazon. None of it was terrible, but it wasn't great either. It's not as bad as Katherine McPhee. Now her album sucked horribly, and I wanted to like it.
Frankly, I gave up on last season after Gina Glocksen got cut. She was the only singer I liked out of the bunch and the only one whose album I would buy if she made one.

Well, the American idol is more of a popularity contest rather than a talent show.
If the contestant is able to work the crowd, they are more likely to stay through till the end as compared to one who don't.
Coupled with the songs they select for that particular genre that evening, it will either make or break the idol-wanna-be.
The singers on stage has only the judges comments to let them know where they are lacking and where they are good to move on to the next step in the competition.
The comments from the judges don't carry a lot of weight when compared to the voting done by the audiences.

Did you see Jordon on Ellen the other day? She sang a song. I assume it is her new single? I don't know. She sang awesome. As far as keeping up with the idols go. I don't really do that even though I watch the show. However I am always happy to see the winners doing well in the industry.

I agree with you. I think she sounded better on the show. The thing I love about American Idol is that the people that dont win do better the the person that does. If I went on the show I would want to win but be second or thrid and I would have a better career!
