who is better as a test opener,jaffer or sehwag

I think both are good openers. Jaffer is technically good batsmen while Sehwag is aggressive & not very good on technical side.

well, jaffer is a proper test player whereas sehwag is not.. but still sehwag for a considerable time was the best opening batsman india had and was responsible for india winning matches abroad. the problem with batsman without proper technique is that they struggle to work their way back to form when they are out of form... that is why sehwag is struggling to get back into the team... so taking the conditions into consideration jaffer is a better test opener. http://mylitemoments.blogspot.com/

In ranji trophy both Gambhir and Sehwag play for Delhi. While Gambhir is scoring centuries, sehwag is failing to score a 50. Also Akash Chopra scored 200, so i think it will be tough for selectors to call sehwag back. But personally would love to see sehwag back in action at top with jaffer.

Definitely Jaffer. I have been observing Jaffer when he started playing for Mumbai. He has scored 9 double centuries in the 1st class cricket. And comparing him with sehwag, jaffer is far far ahead. Though Sehwag has scored the highest individual score for India but that does not mean that he is a good batsman than Jaffer. Jaffer would prove his worth one day and break that record.

Ofcourse both are openers batsman but as far as Jafar hadn't good perform out of Indian pitch besides one match otherside Sehwag is most experienced in opening and performed well. But unfortunately Sehwag is not good form but he has to perform well any how otherwise this series will be last series for career. What do you think? Sehwag should get a chance for second match against Australia.

I can't say now who is the best, and who should deserve to be a good opener since there are so many twist and turns going in the indian cricket team. But since jaffer is performing well as a opener in tests so i think he fits for the place in test but i have no idea how he is going to perform in ODI's. On the other hand shewag is a good player. It's ok that his career is shrinking but everyone has some bad time.We should consider his past efforts and give him another chance. Now my opinion is that until India is not finding a good opener, i think ganguly and sachin should be given some chance. They have proven themselves as openers for many years and i think they still have that potential to carry this job. lets hope for the best.

I think we should think about replacing karthik rather than sehwag.the way jaffer is playing is just superb.he is in great form and is doing a wonderfuljob as an opener.i think karthik must be replaced and sehwag must be brought in and that will make a great combination in batting especially as opening batsmen.

Hello, lourde! as an opener in the test sehwag will be the first choice.but unfortunately he is having some problem with him for which he is not opening the match now a days.it so happens in everybody's case.so the only alternative is jaffer who did quite well in second test.but my view is different.let sehwag and jaffer open the match.thank you.good luck.
