Seriously we just got two kittens for our daughters and we had an adult female already.. Well the adult has started peeing anywhere but the litterbox...I dont know if she is acting out or what, but Im seriously losing my mind! And one of the kittens is a boy and he has started marking his territory! Does that stop when you neuter them? And is there anything I can do about the deliberate peeing on my clean laundry? Someone help or Im getting rid of them...It wasnt my idea to get them anyway!

Unfortunately, when a new cat or kitten is taken into a household where another cat already lives, the cat that was there first has panic attacks because she feels as if she's being replaced. Your cat, is this case, is experiencing those panic attacks and pees all over because she is stressed out. What I would try, if I were you, is I would give the adult female TLC and extra attention so that she feels you don't love her any less since the intruders came in. Scolding her for peeing where she shouldn't and giving her the cold shoulder might make matters worse and cause her to pee even more. Just think how you would feel if your loved one brought in a replacement for you. It may or may not work, but it's worth a try. As far as the male cat goes, neutring usually stops territory marking. I wish you the best of luck and hope all of you can get along.

I don't know where you are located, but maybe you can try taking your female adult cat to a pet psychic if there is one in your area. The animal communicator may be able to tell your cat how you feel about what she's doing. I took my cat to one a while ago. It only cost me $30 for 1/2 hour; I felt it was well worth the money.

I meant to ask -- is the older female spayed? If not, she can and will spray like a male tom to mark her territory. She is marking so an unneutered male (a tom) can find her and mate with her. Females do spray like males.

Im sure you are right and a big part of it is our older cat feels neglected...We have tried very hard to show her extra TLC, but not sure it is working to well. And as far as our young boy...He soo has an appt next week to go and get his junk snipped!! Thanks for the help though!

I'd say the adult cat is marking her territory as she has her nose put out of joint...as for the male kitten, it's a matter of just breaking them out of it, I had a male cat that did that - even after he was neutered

How do you break a male cat from spraying? Is there any miracle cure to snap them out of it...Talk about gross...And as for my adult I think you are right...She is really moody anyway...She even argues with me...dont ask, but I cant put up with it for much longer..They are driving me nuts...any other advice?

It's hard to discipline a cat but I would try spraying vinegar mixed with water to the areas where the cat sprays...they don't normally like the smell & cn deterr them.

Yuck, the exact reason that I have 2 dogs and absolutely no cats. I mean, cats are cute and grand, but not if they are peeing in my house. Dogs are bad enough but at least they don't have a little box! Anyway, we've had a cat before, and one thing that the vet told us to do was to always make sure that the litter box is very clean. Some cats are finicky and won't go if the box is nasty.. I mean, can you blame them? They have to walk in it! And maybe get a bigger one, or even 2 different ones so that the cats have more room to go? I would try as someone else suggested with the extra love and attention. If that isn't working, well, I don't know what else you can do about the adult you already had. How old is she? Maybe she just prefers to be the only cat and that's how it is or she will pee. I'm sure it's just attitude! (I think cats are like that... lol) For the boy, well, our cat was a boy and he didn't stop spraying right away after we neutered him, also it wasn't as strong when he did mark, and over time he grew out of it. It just took a little while, and he preferred really clean litter too as I mentioned above. I have also heard that the venegar and water will help deter cats, and it is also great at neutralizing any enzymes from where the cats have already sprayed too so they aren't as apt to spray there again. All in all though, if you really love the cats I am sure you will figure out a way to make peace with them, and if not do what I would do.. find them a good loving home with someone who has patience for that and get a dog! LOL!!!

Generally it does stop when they are neutered, but if you let the behavior continue, then chances are, the longer it goes on, the harder it is to break. Your older cat is acting out. She sees the 2 new kitties as threats and she's peeing everywhere to mark what's hers. Call your vet and have a workup done on all 3 cats. Sometimes cats can and do pee outside their box as a warning sign of an infection, a blockage or crystals in their urinary tract. Invest in Feliway. You can get it online or at your local pet store. It's a calming room spray or it's also available in plug in form such as Glade Plug ins. The scent is very calming to cats but humans can not smell it.

My male cat is the one that keeps on spraying everywhere. He also calls for a mate everynight. IT sounds like a crying child. lol. Our neighbors are so annoyed with him because he usually does the mating call whe everyone is sleeping already. Like what they said, give extra attention to the spayer, it will help... i guess.
