Here in the UK there is a lot of media coverage about immigration. But on another discussion board yesterday I noticed an inclination towards what I can only describe as hatered of anyone in the UK who was either an asylum seeker of an illegal immigrant. I believe the USA has a big problem here as well but has this led to out and out hatred of immigrants?

This is where I sort of sit on the fence, for me it all comes down to what KIND of immigrant they are....
basically if they are comming to live here because they are in fear of their lives in their own country (assylum seekers) or they are comming here to get a job and make a life for themselves, then I have absolutely no problems with them being here (I am in the U.K.).
It's the ones that just look at the way our country support the jobless/homeless and think "great I hit the jackpot here" that bug me.
I certainly couldn't say I have a hatred for them, they are here for one reason or another, in some ways no different to those English people that like to emmigrate to places like Austrailia, America or Spain... it's all in search of a better life.

You have very similar views to my own. But believe it or not yesterday I was reading comments from people all over the UK yesterday where references to Hitler, Gas Chambers and Concentration camps were being made as some form of solution to a problem. I think part of this is the UK media with papers like the Sun who print scare stories about free hand outs etc. For some reason people believe every word in the newspapers without question.
