I'm afraid of flying!!!!!!!!!!!
I just cant get it, i flied past the ocean various times, i flied inside my own country. I have been on an aeroplane many times. But now i have developed flight fright.
I just cant understand this, i usually thought that it worked the opposite way around..you know..one is afraid of flying, then he tries and the fear goes away. My fear has started when i already had done so many flights.
I talked to a friend of mine that has his parents and relatives all around the world, so each year he takes various planes. He said that maybe something unpleasant happened to me last time i flied. So i thought that he is right, last time i flied i was going to sweeden, and near to landing i had all of a sudden this extremely strong ache in my head. It probably was a pressure thing, but it was so incedibly painful.
What do you think? Could that be the reason for my newly developed fear of flying?

I am sorry that you are afraid of flying and understand this. A poor experience of a plane like much pain can make a person worry about whether this will happen again on their next flight. I used to suffer terrible ear pain due to pressure on my ears when landing. The pain was very strong and I went almost deaf for about an hour after the plane had landed. I flew to Tunisia, the plane landed in Tunis and I felt strong ear pain. The journey had been rough and the passenger sitting next to me has split coffee on me. Landing in Sfax I was sick and somehow dropped my immigration card on the plane. When flying back from St Lucia I felt nervous thinking about the ear pain I would have to suffer. I got a nose bleed, probably from all the worry. In 1996 I flew to Kenya and I used ear planes (plastic screw things) inside my ears. Wow! Flying is great now that these take away any ear pain. Exercises like swallowing and opening your mouth whist holding your nose then blowing. This will make your ears go pop and release pressure that might be causing pain in your head. Good luck.

what an awful flight you had there..
i remember once as a kid i was flying transoceanic..all of a sudden we had the largest air gap (dont know how you call them in english, in italian its literaly "air void") i can remember. And it just kept, the feeling was that of the plane falling. So i started screaming as loud as i could because it seemed as it would never end. I still laugh when i think at that one..but as a kid i was terrorized by that moment.
As for what you said in response to me i'm sorry you had all theese problems. Mine seems like a small thing compared to those you are speaking of.

I am afraid of flying too.. I've travelling with airplane alot but whenever I have to be on the plane it is still make me nervous. I've ever experience an unpleasant flight before, when the airplane is about to take off, suddenly the plane is shaking so hard and back the ground again. The plane later delayed due to the problems that airline wouldnt inform us.
Or maybe that is because I saw some plane accident that makes me worry whenever I have to fly..
Me too still don't have any solution for my problem. The only thing I did on the plane is to keep my self busy, like reading or sketching so I am not focusing on the plane...
