Classification..

yes,what H.I.M is singing is gothic rock,however,they themselves have named their music "love metal".And when I put their songs in ITUES,it classifies "love metal",so,"love metal" is indeed a type of music.Gothic is given a glorgeous poetic tendencies,ruthless sad elegy and endless drama,H.I.M is just like that.

There are many words that go back many many years and nowadays don't mean what they did way back then. The word 'gothic' now simply does not mean what it did when it first came into being. As far as HIM being 'gothic' - I suppose I can see how they'd be labeled as 'gothic'. Some of the lyrics are very dark and visually they have (in my opinion) a 'gothic' look. It's just a label though, try not to get too hung up on labels.

They call their music as "love metal" but they usually are seen as emotional gothic music too.. Both works.. If you take a listen deeply to their lyrics, the lyrics are very gothic..
