Women and Fashion

If women are mercilessly exploited year by year,they have only themselves to blame.Because they tremble at the thought of being seen in public in clothes that are out of fashion,they are always took advantage of by the designers and the big stores.Clothes which have been worn only a few times have to be put aside because of the change of fashion.When you come to think of it,only a woman is capable of standing in front of a wardrobe packed full of clothes and announcing sadly that she has nothing to wear.
No one can claim that the fashion industry contributes anything really important to society.Fashion designers are rarely concerned.with vital things like warmth,comfort and durability.They are only interested in outward appearance and they take advantage of the fact that women will put up with any amount of discomfort,as long as they look right.

I thought this is the case only in India. Now that you are saying it looks like universal. A friend mine spends sustantial portion of money on purchase of jewellery and sarees (women's main clothing). So much so, my friend's wife is so proud to tell her friends how many sarees she has like Mrs.Marcos had her sandals collection.

:)Actually this is the same case in China.Most of girls and women like vanity.hope themselves be more beautiful.So they never mind to spend a lot of money on their appearance.So do I.lol...A big portion of my salary be spent on clothes..and also like branded one..

well i am fashion loving but i really dont buy anything and everything just ofr the sake to be in fashion.i normally buy branded clothes wich are normally very costly for me and so i dont just discard them for the sake of being out of fashion.there are many friends of mine who dont repeat dresses of theirs so as to be in fashion and they go for shopping every weekend.i guess what you have written is correct and i truly agree with you.

Its an attitude problem dear quentina. For me only comfort counts nothing else. I wear only cottons cos i live in a very warm country. If the dress matches my profile, i just go for it. I hardly think about the trend. I give my kids the most comfortable clothes. Can you imagine my 5 yr old girl never wear anything otherthan a cotton dress. She doesnt like frills or other various details on a dress. So, i agree with you. only women create this race and only women can stop it.

i am an woman and i like to buy lothes as well. But it is never the case taht i buy whatever i think are new into fashion. I know dress designers do nothing to society, but don't they make dresses for men?
some men are as much fashion concious as women.

I like and I am preoccupied by fashion. I don't think that stylish and original clothes will ever be out of style. The main goal in fashion is not to wear what other people wear, it is to be stylish and know what looks good on us. Styles that have been in fashion many years ago might also look original nowadays. I wear cloths that are elegant and look good, I can care less aabout what other people wear just to be in style.
