Many people think that love is destined. Well, I don't. And I laugh at people who think it is. If love is destined, if there is one person destined for you in this world, then what the hell is choice for? Why don't we just sit and relax? Since our loved one is destined, we will end up with him/her even without doing anything. How foolish!

hi thegreatx.i dont fully agree with you.its true that love is destined for everyone.i am sure you would have heard the proverb that god only help those who help themselves.it actually means that if one tries hard for something then god will definately support them but if they dont work and just pray, nothing good is going to happen to them.in the same way,one get choices in their life but then not always we are able to choose right match for us.the question arises that if we rely on our choice then why are we not able to choose the correct person at first go.most of the time people make bad choices.then comes the role of god.well i guess its all about faith.if one has faith in god then the above live is true otherwise i guess no.

Hi nkhanna! ;D
You asked, "why are we not able to choose the correct person at first go?"
My answer: Because our judgment (we need judgment in order to choose), is limited by what we know of the person. Nowadays, a lot of people hide in mask. They pretend. We think they are nice, good, honest. So we choose them. However, after quite some time, their real color emerges. Dark, cruel, evil.
I don't know why the God entered this discussion when all I asked is about destiny. God Himself is the one who gave us free will. He is just there as a guide and not someone who dictates us what to do. God does not write our destiny. Sure He has plan for us. But it's up to us to follow it or not. In choosing or not to follow His plan for us is an exercise of our God-given free will.
Anyway, destiny by the definition is that which is expected to happen, whatever the situation or circumstances may be.
Oh, thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it! ;D

I believe that for every person on this earth, there is someone for them. Sadly, we go through a lot of situations(relationships)wondering, Is this the one? is he/she for me? come to find out that they weren't after going through a couple of things. I tend to feel that in the search, we get hurt? we stop, get discouraged and perhaps miss out. Now you could have the ONE, but your at a point in your life that you don't appreciate them or you take them for granted. which is sad. Life is a one shot deal. the thing is we really don't know. I hear some folks talk about they just knew that this one was it. I wish I had that kind of feeling myself. I could use it.

I believe that there is what we call a destiny for people to cross their paths. however, destiny alone cannot work on it. Destiny gives us this chance but our decisions and our choices still matter even in the matters of the heart. if we love, we still have to choose...to decide. We have to decide whether we keep on loving the person or just move on. decisions really matter.

i'm with you on that, my friend. i firmly believe it is effort. lots and lots of it. love works because two people have come together and agreed, be it consciously or unconsciously, to work on it. and let's face it. nowadays, when you're in a relationship, you can't just "sit and relax anymore." there's always some understanding and/or forgiving to do, which can be good but not all the time. yadda, yadda... bottom line. love is an action word! lol
