What kind of silly superstition did you grow up with

I grew up in a traditional Chinese family so I had many superstitions. One I remember the most is not to wash my hair on my family members birthday. They said that it was a curse you are casting on that person if you wash your hair on that day. Gosh, if that was true I would wash my hair on every one of my uncle's stupids birthday. Another one was that in the day don't talk about people behind their backs or at night don't speak about the devil or ghosts. Because if you do you will soon come across them. It's freaky but the day time one really works about 75% of the time. Gosh, when I use to talk about someone the person pops up out of no where and scare the day light out of me. What kind of superstition do you have to contribute?

I'm not superstitious. We can't prevent something from happening thru superstion and we can't change anything. Some people are afraid of making any plans on the day of 13-th. I realized that bad things can happen any time, on any date of the month and any day of the week.

Very true. But there are certain hotels that would not have level 13 they would either say 12b rather than level 13 and in Chinese culture the number 14 is really bad and not 13. But yeah interesting but only superstition. Thank you for your comment....

i'm not superstitious, but there are a lot of people that are! I know a lot of buildings they dont label the 13th floor as 13, they just skip it! dont they know its still the 13th floor whether you call it that or not?! lol. silly people. I think there is a lot of silly ones.. Like dont walk under a ladder, cause its bad luck, well.. dont walk under a ladder just seems like common sense to me as SOMETHING may drop on your head! I guess that wouldnt be bad luck so much as stupidity!!
