I'm trying to enjoy life and make the most out of it but still there are times that I'm stressed out and tense. I don't like to feel that way because somehow it affects my mood and how I treat others. When I'm in a lot of stress and when I'm bothered, I tend to be ... well ... b*tchy... but I really don't mean to be that way. How about you? Do you tend to act that way too? How do you release your tension? how do you avoid being stressed out? Thanks everyone!!!

It’s very normal to have up and down in our live. There are just too many frustrating moments when we encounter problems in job or in family. So, it rely on our wisdom to counter the stress and stay cool. The best way to release tension is through exercise and sleep. After exercise and sleep, our body and mind will be exhausted and tend to view thing positively. Besides, I play games and watch movies as well. By doing so, my mind will be occupied by the story line and excitement in it and forget about the stressful thing.

You are most welcome. Well. That make me recall about the 10/90 principles by Stephen Covey. There are 10% of thing that are out of our control in this world and it's up to us to shape the other 90%. One of a good example given is about facing a bad thing in the morning, and it actually depends on how we handle it so that it turns out to be better or to be worse by the end of the day. Happy mylotting!

I agree cheongyc, there are many things in our lives that we cannot control but there are also things that we can control like the way we handle things. Watching movies is definitely a great way to relax especially if the story is light and funny. Thanks for dropping by =)

Sometimes when you think more about the situation you are facing with, the more likely you get tense about it resulting that you may find it stressful to face such. You can do some basic motivation and relaxation habits which can ooze your tension and relieving your stress as well. You can do this by simply relaxing yourself by breathing in and breathing out this will divert your attention to a relaxing state which can calm your thoughts about the circumstance. Also you can relax it by meditating, it can be a simple meditation, sitting down, and feel relaxed by sleeping it can help release tense. Also, think positive about the situation, thinking of good possibilities can transition you from thinking of bad outcomes to a good solve on some problems.

Hi there! Thank you for responding. Wow, it has been 6 years since I've posted this topic. Right now I can say that my patience improve since then, I think because I have grown older and having a kid helps. I agree with breathing in and out as well, that is one good advise that most of you gave. That what I usually do whenever I feel I'm going mad (angry). Happy mylotting!

When it comes to stress I find that my two best combatants are found in taking a hot shower and sleeping well. By well I mean a healthy 8 hours. Nothing clears out the cob webs better than good bountiful rest.

yes i understand what you are tyring to say. I also tend to be mean to people around me when I am in a bad mood. when you are angry or upset, it is so eay to just hurl the pain you are feeling at anyone. Ayway I always end up feeling bad and regretful because oftentimes I make my loved ones feel bad. I am learning to control my emotion and temper now. I handle stress by listening to relaxing music and deep breathing.

That's exactly how I feel, sometimes we do tend to say things that we hope we could take back but unfortunately we couldn't =( That's why when I don't feel good I usually try to be alone to avoid argument with someone and to avoid saying something that I would regret later. Thanks for sharing misshoney! =)

Hello brew2x. Yes, there are times I act that way. I release my stress by taking deep breaths, watching television, listen to soothing music, using the computer, meditating, and doing arts and crafts.

Hi Brew2x the best way to get out of stress is by expressing your feelings rather than bottling them up .i do share my words to those who are close to me when i feel stress . So Please try to follow this idea and let me know.

Yeah when stressed I tend to be in bad mood and it affected my treatment to the others around me as well. Relaxing, for me it is to take time for self-care or me time. Relaxing is to care to yourself. Relaxing is to give pleasure to yourself. So how do I relaxing? eating ice cream, eat chocolate, relaxing on the bed, or listening to the music. I'll try to give myself relax environment as much as possible although sometimes I don't really have time to do it.
