What is the shortest?
The longest I've lived at one place has to be the house where I currently reside. I've been here for 12 years now. :)
The second longest would have to be the house I grew up in when I lived in the Bay Area. I was there for 10 years.
The shortest I've lived at one place has got to be about 2 years. I was a cute little apartment. :)
What about you? Please share your thoughts.

Hi!
My longest stay was for 10 years in a boarding. After that I kept changing boardings for my studies. When I got married my hubby was in a transferable job so we kept changing houses,we stayed in one house for 8 years the others were just 3 years and 4 years. We are in the present house for the past 5 years.I think my shortest stay must have been in my native place as I hardly stayed there.

Well I guess I am like you, the longest is where I currently live, almost 20 years, then where I grew up, around 17 years. The shortest is probably an apartment where we lived for only one year..

The longest I have ever lived in a place is our upcountry home, I grew up there until I was 19 years when I left for college.

I lived with my parents for twenty six years, so that is the longest time I have spent in a residence, then within ten years I have moved an additional six times! Believe me moving gets no easier. I hate being in the same place for too long.

Hahaha, I'm just the opposite wolfie. I like being in one place for a long time. I don't like moving at all. If it was up to me, I'd live in my current home for the rest of my life. Unfortunately I rent, so I don't expect I'll be able to do that. :(

The longest I have lived any place was our last home we were there for 9 years. We have lived here for 8 and the home before the last one we lived at for 7 years. Prior to that we moved a lot and only lived in places no more than two years due to being renters until we got loans to buy our first home. We moved for hubbys educationl retraining to the last place we owned and lived at then moved here once our children all grew up. Only two have since moved back home with children but it is not permanant.

Even though I am a renter I feel lucky that I have been in my current home for so many years. I couldn't imagine moving from place to place, just because I rent. Though I know it won't last and one day I will have to move again. I sure don't look forward to that day...

the longest I have lived in one residence was 10 years, from age 12 to 22. It was the last place I lived with my folks before getting married. I miss those days, I wish I appreciated them more at the time, so fast 10 years goes by now and how fleeting our time on this earth - we much cherish and treasure each moment and make the most of our given time with each other.

The longest would be the house I grew up in (4.5 to 21 yrs old.) The shortest would be when I got my own apartment and made the mistake of falling in love with my neighbor and moving in with him. That was like 6-7 months.

Hi sacmom,
Living at home with my parents, we moved around about every three years or so. Then I went away and lived in a dorm for 9 months. Met my husband, got married and moved into this cute little 2 BR house for about 2 years. Then we bought this house and have been here for 37 years now. I seriously do not plan to move anytime soon.
Happy posting..

That is quite a while to be renting at one place. I hope you liked it since you stayed there so long.
I've been renting the same place for over 12 years now. I like it a lot, though I know one day my family and I are going to have to move. I'm not looking forward to that day (unless I hit the lottery, of course).

The longest time i've lived was the place i grew up which was 15years till now.. The shortest would be 6months only where the place was not safe and I decided to move on to another place. Luckily that place was only a rented house else it would be really hard to move on to another place in such a short time if it's owned by myself. Will you ever feel bored staying at the same place for a long time?

The longest time I've lived in a house was for 12 years and I lived with my mom and dad then cause I was still a child. The shortest time was when I lived in an apartment with my mom while she was looking for another house. She put our house on the market (the one we lived in for 12 years) and it sold in 5 days so we didn't really have enough time to find something else yet. So we lived in the apartment for about 6 months and then we found a house to move into. Now the house I'm in I have lived in with my husband and my son for about 4.5 years.

Wow, the house sold in 5 days? That's quick! I remember after my parents divorced and my mom put the house I grew up in on the market. It took longer than 5 days, though she wanted to sell quick. She even listed it for less than it was worth. This is probably why it took longer than she would have liked. :P

No place is on earth like your own home. The place where I born and grew was the place where I lived for a long time. 534, yakatoot, peshawar city. this was the home at Peshawar, the most busy town of North west frontier Province of Pakistan. I was born here in 1950. I am still living here with my family. I dont remeber the place where I was living for shortest time.

I lived in my childhood home for 16 years and it is the only place I really consider my home as I know I can always go back. I had an apartment in a friends basement for 10 years and that almost felt like home. One day I'll be able to buy a house and I will never leave it!

Ok the farm I own and live on in the summer was purchased in 1905 by My Grandfather. I've lived there all my life. My father and I were both born in the same bedroom of the old farmhouse (28 years apart) and my oldest Grandson is sleeping in that bedroom now. I built a house just up the road (but still on the same farm) in 1979, and about 10 years ago the Municipality renamed the road Campbell Rd. after our family.

It is wonderful that so many generations have lived in one house for so long barehugs. And it must be a great feeling to have the road there named after your family. I know I would be honored if something like that happened to me. :)
