how did u stop smoking?

i know my friends and few from my family who have this problem of smoking...while some of them left it after having a heart attack and realizing that if they continue they may not live longer and healthier...but others still smoke...like here, some good inspiration or other ways to quit smoking can be discovered which can really help them and other people quit smoking?
