Weddings With Color?

United States

How do you guys feel about all the new "colored" things surrounding weddings now? There's so many wedding dresses with splashes of pink, or red, or purple in them...brightly colored bouquets...and I've even seen engagement rings with stones other than or in addition to diamonds, such as a birthstone or favorite gem. Do you guys like these ideas? It's not necessarily traditional, but some of the things seem nice. Like the gowns with colored glitter or patterns. I think they look even prettier, a little less boring. What do you guys think?

I think if it fits the couple's personalities then it works wonderfully. There are always the ones that over do it, whether it's a white dress or with color. I have been at weddings where the bride goes overboard and has too many ruffles, too much tulle, to many sparkles, too much jewelery, a train that's the length of 5 blocks...and of course the most heinous bridesmaids dresses on earth. I know..I had to wear a few of those, lol. I have a wedding dress in my closet from a bullethead I dodged in 2000. It is white chiffon, but not blinding white. I also tried one that I loved that had a slight coral tone. The site for the wedding is what held all the color. It was outdoors...40 acres with flowers everywhere, ponds with white and black swans in them and peacocks roaming the grounds. It hurt me more to let go of the location than the man ;)

LOL I can understand that! Yeah, I don't think you should go overboard with color, especially in the dress, but I don't mind the ones that have like, a spash of red through the skirt or something. But maybe that's cuz I'm just messy, and not a big fan of white clothes!

Lol, I bet the stress alone has made many a bride end up with something on her dress after the reception. Thank you for the B.R. : )
