Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

I honestly prefer to say Merry Christmas when it is close to the Christmas season. If it is closer to thanksgiving I will just say happy holidays.
The reason I prefer "Merry Christmas" is because Christ is the reason for the season! Each to their own but that is what I believe. So with that being said, Happy Holidays, and may you have a Merry Christmas!
