i went to the school this morning to talk to my duaghter's teacher. she said she had no clue of the incident i was talking about. she spoke to my daughter and had her tell her the story. my daughter said it wasn't that teacher and was the teachers assistant which was what she had told me as well. anyway the teacher said maybe it was at luch and was the lunch time helpers. my daughter is only 4 so doens't know everyones name. anyway the teacher is going to stay today for the lunch hour and take my daughter to try to find who it was who hurt her and the teacher is suposed to let me know what happenes. i took pictures of her arm and if i'm not satisfied with what the teacher tells me after lunch then i'm also going to go see the principal.
thanks for everyone's advice

Good for you. I'm glad to see that you are following through with this situation. Apparently there is someone working there who does not need to be working with children. As I said in your other discussion, someone knows that the bruise occured or your daughter would never have been given a wet towel to put on her arm! This to me is the clinching piece of evidence. It indicates that someone knows your daughter's arm was grabbed to forcefully!

the teacher called me today to let me know what happened. appearently my daughter and another girl were arguing in the bathroom and one of the teachers grabbed her by the arm to pull her out of the bathroom. then that teacher is now saying she grabbed her wrist and that my daughter must of had a mark on her arm before this happened. i'm not happy with that. the teacher is suposed to talk to the principal who wasn't in today but i'm going to go talk to him tomorrow as well. telling me there was a mark there before this. how would she even know that. she is assuming that so she stays out of trouble that really makes me mad that she dismisses the situation like that

That sounds about right , that the assistant would try and justify what happened ..
Which isn`t right , GOOD for you for going to speak to the principle ...
I hope it was a misunderstanding , but I truely don`t think it was ...
PLEASE let us know how everything turns out ...
BEST WISHES to you and your daughter ...

I am so sorry to hear that your 4 year old daughter has hurt her arm at school. I am a primary school teacher and a parent. If a child in a class I was teaching was hurt I would tell the parent or carer collecting them at the end of the school day. I hope that the teacher goes with your daughter to find out who hurt her arm. Maybe is was another child and your child was standing close to a teaching assistant. If I was you I would give the teacher a couple of days to find out who hurt her and deal with this according to the school rules. The principal will be interested to see the photo but I think this would be a last resort. Good luck.

I`m glad you spoke to the teacher about this , it may not have been the teacher but who else would your daughter turn to ...
Obviously you , she doesn`t know her teacher very well yet I`m sure and was probably scared that no one would believe her ...
POOR GIRL ...
Did you hear anything yet about it since ???

Good for you! I hope your daughter is able to show who did this to her. I hope that the school take actions. DO NOT let them ignore the problem. If it is happening to one student, it is happening to more. If this aide used enough force to cause her to bruise, she is obviously not meant to be working around children. I hope this works out!

Your poor little girl. I hope that her arm is feeling better and that what has happened will not effect her in the future. That teacher said they grabbed her arm to pull her away, couldn't they have just said come here. They also should have reported the insident to the principal. And what happened to the other kid involved. Parents should be notified straight away when something like that happens. At my son's daycare they write out an insident report and get you to sign it if you are happy with what they have written.

good day! I'm a teacher and a father too and am very sorry that your child is hurt. I know that we parents would not even wish that our children be hurt by anyone. We send them to school and we are confident that is one of the safest places for them to be in while we are working. But it's sad that your child was hurt, and it turns out that the supposed to be protector is not the instigator of pain. Well, I hope this can be resolved and may you not lose your love for teachers!
