I am excited to watch it again. The best part of American Idol is watching the tryouts. They are hysterical!
Then I love watching once I get to know the contestants by name and find my favorite to root for.
I am ready for it to start up again.

I may try to watch it, but for the most part, every single contestant sounds the same. They all sound like either the BackStreet boys, Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake. They are all singing that pop bubble gum music I used to listen to when New Kids on the Block were popular. I've grown past that and have moved on.
Besides the only real AI winner who has done anyting with her career after the show is Carrie Underwood.

That is by far my favorite part. Don't they do an episode during the middle of the season as a space filler about the show's worst auditions?

I agree with Unselffishshellfish. Most of the singers now adays tend to attach themselves much with pop singers/music. Why not try to have contemporary or old school or a different genre. What I mean is a solemnized singing. Breaking the stereotype, right? I also love Carrie U. I'm not much fond with country songs but ever since she performed in AI, I used to listen to songs under that genre...

I am looking forward to it too. I love this show. I think it starts on January 15th. The auditions are the best.

I am excited about American Idol starting up again next month ! Like always there will be many changes and I look forward to seeing what kind. Plus I love watching people sing and the best part is to vote and see who won. It is a good show to get started in the music industry.

I am excited I just hope it's a little better than last season. The entire Sanjaya ordeal was so ridiculous. THe talent wasn't that great either. In case anyone did not hear yet, Jordin Sparks will sing the national anthem at the super bowl.
