Tornado's

I do not know why but I have always had a fear of tornado's
I have never been in one but it seems like it is on my mind alot. I always wonder what do you do when a tornado hits, where is the safest place to hide if you do not have a storm cellar. I would like to hear some people's comments on this as to where you would go incase of a tornado.

Living in the midwest we have had to plan for this, even though I have never had one hit the exact building I was in. First of all you do not want to be near any windows or doors. If you cannot go to a basement or storm cellar, then you would want to go to the innermost walls of the building. If you have a closet that would be a good place to go. When I was in school, we had tornado drills. You would go to the hall in the center of the school and get down on your knees with your head against the wall and your arms over your head.
