A teaspoon of honey before bed seems to calm children's coughs and help them sleep better. The folk remedy did better than cough medicine or no treatment in a three-way comparison. Honey works by coating and soothing an irritated throat.
Three pediatricians who read the study said they would tell parents seeking alternative remedies to try honey. They noted that honey should not be given to children under age 1 because of a rare but serious risk of botulism.
I like honey and I try to use it as much as possible when cooking. Do you like honey? Have any good recipies or suggestions?

If you are going to use honey it is best to use raw honey and the darker the richer it is. I like to take raw honey and undistilled vinegar for a Metabolism boost. I put 2 tablespoons of each in hot water in the morning. I give it to my grandson for his sore throat and it really helps.
In patients with high cholesterol, artificial honey increased LDL (bad) cholesterol, while natural honey decreased total cholesterol 8%, LDL cholesterol 11%, and C-reactive protein 75%.
