If you could live any where in the world where would it be?

I lived in San Diego, CA for 8 years and came back home to Boston to be with my family (even though I have a daughter and grandson there). I have always said that if the time is ever right I'm going back to live there because to me it's the most awesome place in the world.
Where would you live if you could pick any place in the world? Would it be in your country or another country? What is your reason?

Not having traveled much, ctry, I would have to choose Tennessee, where I grew up. I loved the pace of everyday life there. I really love the rural atmosphere. I have lived in the city in Ohio for more than 30 years now, and I still miss my "real" home in Tennessee.

I lived about 50 miles south of Nashville, ctry, and was fortunate to be able to visit there often. They have some of the best barbecue in the country there.

Yes, I've been to Tennessee and I think Nashville would be my second choice....actually...it might be my first now that you mention it. I stayed there for two weeks one time and totally enjoyed it.

I went to "A" school in Millington and spent every second I could in Nashville. It was my first introduction to live country music and I fell in love! I was able to go to the last show at the "old" Grand Ole Opry and then I went the first show at the New one. I had a blast. Thanks for triggering the memorie!!

I lived in Alexandria, LA for a few years when my ex was in the Air Force. In fact my two daughters were born there. I wasn't thrilled with the weather there...(although I hate the weather in MA but I was born here). Texas is also a state I would think about moving to if there were no Bush's there...lol!

I have a friend in Australia who sends me the most awesome pictures and I think if I was ever to move out of the US that is where I would go. At least there is no language barrier to deal with.

you lived in San Diego?? we have a few relatives there. ^__^
if I could live anywhere in the world, it would be in Japan. ^__^ as i've said in many related discussions, I have always been fascinated with Japan since the first time I laid eyes upon a Japanese cartoon (anime). LOL since then, not only I got hooked with animes, but I also got interested with Japan's culture, traditions, provinces, and everything and I just wanna experience living there and live as a Japanese girl. ^__^ it has been my dream and I really hope it would come true in the future. even for just a couple of days.

Yes, one time about 12 years ago I decided to just pack up and go and I never regretted it. I also have family there in and around Chula Vista and Encinitas. I think the reason I wouldn't want to permanently move to another country is the language barrier.

I'd want my mother to move back here. She isn't happy in Florida. But other family members are there. That coupled with some other more private issues, keep her from coming back here where she grew up. And where she says she wants to be. I'd like to take a trip to another country, but I don't feel I'd be comfortable living anywhere else. It would be interesting to learn about a different culture from a hands on stand point though. Not just from books.

I have never wanted to live in another country because there are so many states that to me are awesome enough. I'm sorry your mom isn't happy in Fl. Maybe one of these days she will get to move back home where she will be happy.

From the little I know of Spain it's a beautiful country. I do know one couple who lived there when they were in the service many years ago and loved it!

In the new year, I am embarking on a job search that I hope will lead to a different place than where I have been. I have grown up in Texas. I lived in North Texas before and now live in Austin. I would love to see what else is out there. I am not sure where I will end up yet, but I think it will be interesting either way.

I have lived in a few cities in Michigan, one in Iowa, two in Wisconsin and now one in Texas. I must say that I am no longer afraid of going to new places to set up home (this is the third state we have lived in in the past two years). We aren't sure where we want to live, but we are hoping that someday soon our income will be from the web and we will be able to go where ever we want.
There are advantages to staying here. Namely our son's grandparents. But I am not sure that we will be here long...

I am so lucky in that I already have the opportunity to live in the place that I have dreamed of for many years.
In 4 years time when I retire, my wife and I will be moving to the beautiful Meditterranean island of Crete. We were lucky to be able to buy a house there two years ago and we have been counting down the days until the time comes for us to live there permanently.
It is such a wonderful island and because it is quite large compared to other of the islands in the Med it means that we will not get bored by being stuck in a small place.
I think the main reasons for us falling in love with the place are, in no particular order,
..The weather
..The people
..The laid back lifestyle
..The views
..The cost of living compared to the UK
..We love it!
