Does anyone have a strange story about a live Christmas tree? I have always had a live tree and I am 49 years old. Well, the year before last, Christmas 2005, I bought my tree home and let it settle before we decorated it. I was sitting on my sofa and one of my cats jumped like something bit her. She ran from the ugliest bug I have ever seen in my life. It looked like a cross between a beetle and a spider, it looked like a mutant bug! It scared me half to death! I ended up flushing it, I did not know what the heck it was. I bought an artificial tree last year because I was scared of getting a bug in another tree. Well, this year I am buying a real one, wish me luck. Anyone have a story to tell about something coming out of their Christmas tree???

Well, not tree stories, but my mom used to have hanging pots & onetime she brought them in from the cold and there were WASPS in them! they came flying out when they warmed out.

Happily there were only a few wasps and no one was stung. I didn't hang around, I am afraid to get stung by a wasp and having an allergic reaction.

I can do one slightly better. One year my parents gave in and got a real tree, it was the onlt time they have ever had a real one. First of all they had it delivered by family that insisted they had great trees on their lot. The thing arrived and it was bigger around than it was tall.! It was a Christmas bush NOT a tree really. As if that wasn't bad enough when the trimming began it woke up the inhabitant of the tree...a real live mouse came with the real live tree!
