With all of the recent toy recalls here in the United States, are you still buying toys for your children? Have you changed your buying habbits because of this? Are you afraid to buy anything for your child now because of this? What are your thoughts?

This topic is one of stress and aggravation. Not because its being discussed, but because it is such a concern at this moment in the U.S. Why are we having so many issues with toys now? I dont understand. This is a problem that has grown increasingly worse as the year has gone on. Why are we still buying toys from China when this issue isnt being resolved? Why not bring jobs back to the United States where people need jobs and we arent going to poison our own children. I found it hard to buy toys this year while xmas shopping...Im just crossing my fingers that it doesnt all crop up on the recall list. How do you explain to a child that a present from "Santa" needs to go back? I think the toy companies need to open their eyes and fix the problem instead of slapping a few people on the wrist overseas and saying dont do it again...Hello? Thats not going to work...it hasnt so far...get a clue!

Exactly. Somehow we got lucky enough to where not many of my sons toys have ended up on the recall list. But really... how DO you explain that to a child? You are right, we need to think about this, and stop allowing crap like that into our country, give the jobs back to the people. And I know someone is going to argue about the cost. Here is my answer to that... it will cost MORE money to pay everyone that is on welfare because all of the jobs have been outsourced to another country than it will for initial startup costs. Something to think about... at least the kids would be safe!
