Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
Why is a boxing ring, square?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Why is a wise man and a wise guy, opposites?
Why is it called after dark when it is really after light?
Why is the third hand on a watch called the second hand?
Why do fat chance and slim chance mean the same thing?
Why does the sun lighten our hair, but darken our skin?
Why is it that doctors call what they do, "practice"?
Why is the man who invests your money called a "broker"?
Why is it called a television set when you got only one?
What do you think?

Mmmmm. Can think of at least a few more here:
Why do they call it a "pair" of underwear?
Why do they call it a "pair" of eyeglasses?
Why do they call that item that helps stops leaking in a faucet a "washer"?
Why do they call that one part of a screw system a "nut"?

Very funny paradoxes LOL
I know some of the answers but not all of them so maybe if you know the responses you could write them down ... lol ... Like I don't know why a boxing ring is called a ring eventhough it's square ... maybe they started out as a round and realized it was not very practical lol no clue
There are many things that we call a way that is not always appropriate ...

I think I'm laughing so hard I'm crying and there is no way on earth I can explain any of these - just too funny to pass up though. Thank you, I really really needed a laugh.
