First and foremost, try not to run ahead of other players on your team. This is obvious, but I'm noting it anyway. Second, never crouch around corners. This allows the enemy more time to center his crosshairs on your skull cage, and less time for you to focus on theirs. Third, if you're comfortable with the recoil on weapons, type "cl_crosshairscale 10000" in your console, or simply set your crosshair size to small. Don't be afraid to hang back a little as your team makes an assault. But don't stay too long or you could be flanked and get yourself or your team killed. Also, be aware of your team's actions; if a group is walking, don't barge in there and make a lot of noise. Remember, sound is a powerful tool that works both ways.
