It goes without saying that I as well as many people out there do not like working in customer service. It is tedious and a pain. Yet, when you're on the receiving end of poor customer service, that does not help matter either.
How many of you work in customer service? Do you find it stressful or do you like it?
My work involved some customer service and yes I am looking into leaving my job in another year or so. I worked hard to earn my degree in college and want to do more with my life these days.

I am not sure if I am considered working in customer service. I do work with customers. It is true that managing customers can be tiring and rather stressful especially when faced with nasty or unreasonable customers. However, it can be a challenge to oneself if one can reset the customer expectation and turn the situation into his favour. It is fun working in customer service. It is the customers who pay us our salary :P

I think we actually learn from the horrible customer service we get don't you think? I'm now a cashier in a store and I am sometimes so nice I make myself sick! lololol....

I find most people who work in customer service don't really care. They are just doing a job. I phoned a lumber yard and wanted some prices and told him so. He just said to me, I'm too busy right now to help you, can you phone me back in 5 minutes. I just said, yeah right, no problem I'll phone back, As if. Well, needless to say, that lumber yard just lost my business. But did he really care, I don't think so. He just works there. I couldn't be bothred to report him to his manager because I don't think he would care either, and probably wouldn't do anything about it anyways. I find their attitude is, so what, tell someone who cares.
