I dont know if this a great topic to discuss because there seem to be alot of mean people on this site that want to call everyone idiots, but I thought I would ask. I have had a number of things happen to me that has made me curious to know how others feel about these things...We arent talking bigfoot, ufo's, aliens, or lochness here on this one. I want to know if other people see or hear strange things...Or have you ever had you instincts screaming at you and it turns out you were right. Your 6th sense to be exact? Would love some stories and opinions!

I don't know if this counts as paranormal or anything, but unlike most people my body temperature isn't regulated involuntarily, I can raise or lower it at will simply by thinking. Not just a few degrees either, I was sitting on my living room floor, completely comfortable and raised my body temp to the point of sweat rolling down my forehead. Also, I've had dreams of things years before they happen, seen people in them I've never met until one day I happen to become friends with that exact person. I've also been wide awake but unable to open my eyes or move for several minutes (lying on my back so it can't be sleep paralysis [plus you can open your eyes during it]).

You know, I really wish I had had the ability to raise my body temperature at will by just thinking about it when I was still living at my moms house. I mean, the number of days I could have stayed hom sick and just hung out when she was working! LOL!

Yeah, unfortunately the High school I went to only allowed a certain number of sick-days, even if they were excused by parents and you made up all the work. Then you had to sign a contract (as if a minor can enter into a legally binding contract with anyone)stating that if you missed another day for any reason whatsoever, they were allowed to fail you for every class, meaning that if you broke the contract you'd be forced to go to summer school 6-7 hours per day or not graduate. According to them, if you missed that many days of school you couldn't possibly have learned anything in the classes you missed even if you did make up all the work so it was either summer school or failure for the class. I hadn't even hit the limit for the class yet (I was two absences away I believe) and the principal flat out looked me in the eye and said it didn't matter, he was forcing me to sign a contract anyway (see, "According to them" above). There was only one marking period left and I was failing the class because of these absences and my teacher personally called me and said that I'd done so well in those last few weeks that I didn't need to take the final to pass. How's that for not possibly learning anything? Anyway back to the topic, the whole paralysis thing, it depends on how you sleep. This happened while I was sleeping on my back, what doctors call, "Sleep Paralysis" happens when you sleep on your stomach with your face in the pillow. I've had that happen too, you wake up but your face is in the pillow so it's hard to breathe, you try to push yourself off the pillow to get a breath but you can't move so you're stuck there seemingly suffocating for about 30-45 seconds, it's terrifying. They say you're supposed to try wiggling your toes and it helps your body wake up faster, and to sleep on your back to prevent it. As far as the dreams are concerned, I usually have very vivid, realistic dreams when they're about the future. The dream about the friend, happened when I was about 7. When we met in eighth grade he said the exact same thing that he said in my dream, in the exact same spot, and up until that point I had completely forgotten about the dream.

Im always warm to the touch, but my temp will read a few degrees cooler than normal...My doctor called it something I cant remember. Do you always remember your dreams? I have had issues with not being able to move when Im awake...to be honest I hate it and it freaks me out...especially in the middle of the night.

I believe in all kinds of things that other people don't. ;P
It starts with the Celtic Gods that I follow, and goes on to include ghosts, faeries of various types, auras, psychic powers, magic, and all manner of other things!
The reason I believe what I believe is because of what I have seen and heard myself. I grew up living almost as much in the spirit world as in the physical, because of my pretty unique history, and I just never learned to doubt things I see the way most people do.

I was very lucky to have my great-grandparents actually. The rest of my family is pretty horrific... abusive and such... but my great-grandparents were the people I could depend on. My great-grandfather and a relative of his taught me Native American traditions, and my great-grandmother taught me Celtic paganism. So I was pretty lucky to basically grow up dealing with the spirit world... it wound up being kind of an escape because of the abuse I was suffering.
It's great that your daughters are going to grow up knowing that spiritual things are okay! It's really sad what your little girl has to go through in terms of seeing such things in church though, and I'm glad that you're keeping her out of it now!
In my case, I can both see and sometimes feel auras... there are people who make me feel like I'm being tickled, or caressed, or make me feel slimy... it's kind of how I judge people a lot of the time. There are people that I do or don't trust based off their auras. I have one friend whom I talked to online who makes me feel like I'm wrapped up in a blanket. :)
I've had some really interesting spiritual experiences I guess. Since I've been involved with such things since I was a kid, I have more experience than a lot of people I've met who are older than me but came to it later. It's kind of funny because I wind up in a teacher role a lot of times with people older than me. I really can't imagine living without that spiritual world as a part of me though... sometimes I wonder how "normal" people do it!

Im sorry you went through such horrible experiences as a child. Its good that you had an escape and a form of therapy for it.
My daughters and my son when he gets older will know that what they feel and believe isnt something bad. My daughter is happy now that she doesnt have to go to that church. I wouldnt be soo against it if they had taken her feelings into consideration. I mean if a 4 year old is crying because she doesnt want to go into a place because it scares her then she shouldnt have to.
So yeah I dont know what you would call me.. I see colors and get vibes from people. I can tell a lot of the time when someone is lying or hiding something. It kinda sucks sometimes though..

Thats probably a good thing that you grew up that way...I thought I was crazy seeing colors around people and other odd things..My mom finally told me our family history about 5 years ago. It explained alot. And now Im able to let my girls know thats its okay so they dont feel like I did growing up. My youngest daughter is extremely sensitive she wont even go to church when she is at her dad's every other weekend because she told them that people were burning there. She is only 4 mind you. Scary for her. I finally had to put my foot down about forcing her to go when she doesnt want to. I pick her up early that day and we just spend the day together. I think a lot of what the church has turned into religion is a joke. I would love to hear some of your stories you seem like a pretty cool person! : )

i believe in karma that's why i try my best not to do to other people what i dont want them to do to me...aura's? i dont think so coz i didnt feel or see it as other do...but i do believe in 6th sense coz my third eye is open...do you believe in it? coz if you dont, you would consider me a fool if ever..lol..well, let me share you this recent experience of mine regarding with this 3rd eye thing...one day im chatting with someone that i dont know, but i see his picture coz of friendster, well he is one of my groupmates in friendster group...the first time i saw his picture, i feel different, oppss not love at first sight! lol...then one day, when we were chatting, for the first time, he asked me if i believe in third eye, not because that was our topic but he felt my power...im shocked coz i dont talked of my third power to anyone since not everyone believe in it...then after he asked me that, i felt his power too, coz his third eye is also open...well, we dont know each other, not even see each other in person but to feel each other's presence is one strenght of this 3rd eye...

I do believe in Karma and very much in Aura's. Thats very awesome that you and your friend both discovered a unique ability you both have. I havent really read up on third eye, but my 6th sense is usually in high gear! :)

I dont know if it should be labeled as my 6th sense, I dont think that has a label..I consider my 6th sense to be more intuition than anything, but yes I have seen colors since I was a little girl, and so has my mother and grandmother. My own daughters comment also about them so Im assuming its genetic in our family.

i believe in the supernatural and the extra senses that is inate among people. However, not all stories about these are true and that you should believe in right away. Before believing you must investigate and find further facts about any super and out of the ordinary phenomena.

I think you are absolutley right. I think people need to read fact before they believe anything. But then again having faith in something isnt always about reading or seeing...its just knowing that their are miraculous things in this world that cant always be explained or denied for that matter. :)

I would say that I believe in karma. It never happens right away, but it shots back to people who don't do good! I know that there is a big possibility that these phenomenal things are true. It isn't it amazing that we human beings exist? Anyways, when you say karma, I's say that the truth always prevails! Peace!

yup,Karma for me is a simple cause & effect theory...what you do to others have effect to you in some way... regarding Aura & ESP some says that it can be developed in some Institution...

What institution is that? Government lock up? Or are we talking like one of those study institutions?

I definitely do believe in Karma! DEFINITELY! Aura's well I have really never seen one myself, but I do believe that there are people who can see them. Maybe my mind just isn't open enough to it.. lol. ESP, yes, definitely think that exists, between people who are very close anyway. I dunno, almost like you and another person can just have a silent conversation and you know what the other is thinking. Craziness. I have definitely had the screaming instincts, which I truly believe saved me from getting into a car accident. I was approaching a light that was green, and was going to turn left. I swear to you, I was in the car alone and it was like someone was right up next to my ear and said "STOP"!!! So, I slam on my breaks and what do you know.. a pickup speeds through the light going across the highway at at least a good 55mph probably higher, and I know if I hadn't stopped it would have hit me I am sure. There have been other times too, but what really freaks me out is when I have Deja Vu.. which to be honest is happening more and more lately about random things. What are your thoughts on this?

Considering we as humans only use about 10% of our brain I think anything is possible. And I think anyone can use it use just have to allow yourself to open up your mind a bit.

I dont think thats karma! In my opinion when strange things happens to you there maybe another reasons for it. Karma is more like when u do bad to others u bad happens to you. For example if you cheated on someone. in return somebody will cheat on you. Its a law of nature whatever u contribute comes back to u

I didnt say what strange things happened...And I know what karma is. I was just curious to what others thought and how they feel on the subject. Do you believe in it or do you think its just a buncha crap?
