I'm sure many of you have mobile phones. Have you set a number in your phone book as Emergency Number, where someone could contact in case anything happens to you? Eg, if you faint in the streets and have no other form of identification with you except a mobile phone. A good samaritan may pass by and found your mobile phone...but WHICH NUMBER TO CALL?

Quite a while ago I read an article that said we should type in 'I.C.E.' and then enter our emergency numbers in there. Supposedly emergency personell, police, etc are supposed to know that the abbreviation stands for 'in case of emergency'. I have my daughter's number in there. Also, instead of just writing Dr. so & so (with his number) write in 'heart dr (and drs last name)' Not only is it important to have an emergency number for a family member, it is important that that family number have a copy of what medications you are on, who your dr's are, and what your medical conditions are. Having the info handy (by their phone, in their purse, and/or in their glove compartment) may save your life because they will have all the pertinent information to get you treated safely. Like they say: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
