I use blogger, and the associated feed burner to add RSS subscriptions and a few other components. I also subscribe to blogger tips/tricks which offers good tutorials to customize it. Some blog tips and links are in my site Internet Online Cash in my mylot profile.

Yup! using blogger is easy together with other useful features it provides. Maybe that's why most bloggers use it. But as to what i've read, it is possible that they suddenly discontinue your account, which is a total lost especially is you blog for money. Is it really possible?

yup, that's what I've done since I've read that article. I back-up all my post in a word document ^_^ but I'm not sure about it, because the writer of the article is using wordpress for his blog and that is his point why he switched to wordpress, but it is better to be sure than sorry ^_^ back it up...All you'll lose is your audience if that happens

Good question - Don't know what the long term plan for blogger is. Perhaps contact them. I suppose some sort of back up plan would be required. Might be interesting though, if people back up or copy their posts to say a word document, before they actually post it in their blogs...

They are all ok, however I like to host my own wordpress on my own domains. you are less restricted that way as opposed to a blog community policing everything you do and say. Blogspot/blogger will take your blog out of search results and you will not show up on their site if there is anything inappropriate at all on the blog. I'm not saying that everyone wants a blog like this, it just makes me feel restricted about what I would want to put on my blog. There are enough people trying to tell us all what to do, who needs one more ya know?

yup! i totally agree with you. You have more freedom if you'll host your own blog, no one to tell you what you should and should not do, and you are well assured that your blog won't just disappear. As of now, the one of the major reasons why many people are not into hosting their own blog are the expenses that come along with it compare to the free blogsites.

I use wordpress, mainly because I can host it on my own domain and it has heaps of plugins that I can use to improve my SEO and also increase my earning capacity.

I use blogger (blogspot) and am pretty happy with it except a few features like a calendar which I hop they incorporate soon!

maybe you can search for a javascript or something for a calendar and just add a new html/javascript sidebar

I use Blogger for my blog....Initially, it was a bit complex because knowledge of HTML programming is needed to customise the blog... However, when Blogger introduces an updated version, everything become much easier.... I don't use Wordpress or livejournal so I won't know how good they are
