What is your definition of a best friend? Who are your best friends if you care to name them? Who is there for you? Do you trust them with your life? Am I one of your best friends? Do you trust me with your life as well? Just a few things to think about when it comes to friendship...

to me, a best friend is someone who is there for you always. through thick and thin - no matter what. and who doesn't try and stab you in the back or anything. and of course you should trust your best friends.
my best friends are my sister and my boyfriend. i love them both and trust them both completely with everything that i have. i know they'll both always be there for me.

Your response reminds me that its better off to have a few friends to be with you in the end than to have everyone else in your world to be your friends, you know? That way, you can trust them instead of everyone else, since its hard to figure out who you can trust and who you can't. Some people will backstab you for selfish reasons and that's just ignorant on their part and shouldn't be done. I'm glad your sister and your BF are the two best friends you have in this world. :)

you're exactly right about not knowing who you can trust and people backstabbing you.

My own definition of a friend is a female or male that I can talk to about anything at anytime.

Hi Sweets, Of course you are one of my very good friends...
I have a couple of what I would call best friends..
first is my friend Evie that I started school with and played with from infancy...We are closer then sisters and love each other dearly!
My friend Linda is the daughter of my sister's hubby's sister..whatever you call it..We grew up as family and got into alot of mischief together..We once stole a horse from a boy she had a crush on and we rode him bareback-double all through the town..She really got Jonny's attention that day!! he he
Next my friend Nona..We became friends in the late 60's..I haven't seen her in 30 + years but she will always be in my heart..
My friend Shell is the friend that I see the most..She lives about an hour from me but we see each other often and speak almost daily..
My friends Dee and husband Richard are like family to me. We missed each other so much when I was on the west coast and they on the east that I invited them to come live with me in Calif...We have been close for over 40 years..We speak often and email daily..They live a 2 hour flight from me..
My friend Mary and I became close when we both moved here to the Adirondacks which was in the late 70's.. We had our kids around the same times so we were together alot..and we are tree huggers and hippy types..

I thought I was one of your best friends? :P
I think its really cool that you are still friends with people that you hooked up from your days as a kid to now. Its hard to stay in touch with those you love from time to time, but I'm glad you still manage to stay in contact with them.
