I can tell you a few things that work: Make sure to make good, wholesome answers; avoiding one liners.
Always rate your discussions you read. Most people work hard and deserve a plus ..it will show you are taking time to consider the discussion.
I understand the amount of time spent here is taken into consideration..
Grammar and spelling is not important..as long as the gest of your topic is coming out..that means..if you misspell or have incorrect grammar.. it's alright.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for adding an extra twist to my discussion. I know I definitely enjoy looking back at discussions I've responded to to see if the topic-starter has left any comments. I've found this to be a very rewarding process and most definitely take the time to do the same for my responses. Thanks for the great ideas!

Dear JJ4ever,
I follow the following while participating in mylot. I thought it will be of some use to you.
1. You can post 15-20 discussions/day and then you can post comments to those who respond to your discussions.
2. You can post 50 to 75 resonses/day to discussion topics posted by other members.
3. You can make a lot of friends, by sending friend requests, thereby you can get responses for your topics
4. You can put tags
5. You can bring referrals. Who in turn posts a lot of discussions which brings money for you.
6. You can blog.
Many many things can be done. But you have to post the discussions and responses in a big way so that you can earn handsomely. All the best in your endeavours. It is difficult to predict how the money can be earned here, because mylot has algorithm which calculates. So concentrate on quality and quantity

Thanks for the additional idea. Do you mean to say that referral links aren't allowed on our own personal profile pages either? If so, that is completely understandable. I should probably research that issue. If you know for sure, please let me know. Thanks for the info!

Look around, try to find discussions that are of your interest, reply to them in a nice way, make it a long but quality post and your money will be flowing in.
You can also start your own discussions, try to make them intersting for others to reply on.
