Christmas is wonderful but like everything else, work is involved. Cooking, baking, wrapping presents, buying presents, organizeing the dinner and the family and the list goes on. Who does the most work in your household? What do you have the kids do? Do you assign jobs/chores? Or do you do it all ourself!

I do all of the Christmas shopping, baking, decorateing and wrapping by myslef for the most part. My husband will wrap the gifts that he gets for me and will hang and ornament or 2 on the tree but thats about it. I don't mind though, I love getting ready for Christmas.

I used to do it all by myself - everything. The kids helped on the tree, but as they got older, they didn't really like it much. Couldnt' figure that out, but they liked it once up!I did the complete HUGE buffet meal for christmas day for about 20 and I was in cleaning it all up while everyone else was in the living room visiting and waiting for me to "come in" to open the presents! Never bothered me much, unti the last few years. Why am I doing all this clean up!! So I started asking people to do things and they did. Just dont know why they never offered! I fgured what to buy, bought gifts, wrapped them, the whole kit and kaboodle. My husband would finally give me money on the week before christmas! hated haveing to wait so long. I'd pick things up earlier using part of the grocery money but the main gift, was always last minuted. hated that. I couldn't figure out why there was always so much food left. My husband thinks I am the most horrid cook in the world so I finally asked the rest of the family, is my cooking so bad? Why are you all not eating? Why is all this food left? They said my cooking is fantastic, the problem with there being so much food still here is because I made enough to feed the 5,000 instead of just the 20 that are here! But I was never left with any "left ovr" cookies or baked goods!

I do all the social stuff like buying and addressing cards and mailing them and most of the cooking, but we eat out a lot around the holidays, and year-round he does most of the tedious work. He loves to do the laundry, and wash floors and that sort of thing. He makes the bed. Dunno how I got so lucky. I feel bad assigning him chores after all that, but he volunteers for assignments, like "Honey, do you have any peppers you need peeled?" So he is my potato, carrot, pepper and tomato peeler, too. I am the only one here who ever answers the phone or checks voice mail or opens the door to let visitors in. He empties the trash and washes the car, but I fix his VCR and keep the cable connection up and running, pay the bills, type his correspondence and all that good stuff. We decorate the tree together, but as you know that just stays up year-round.
