How long do you hold a grudge?

Are you a person that finds it hard to forgive. If someone contradicts you or does something you think is unforgiveable; how long do you stay upset?
I do not hold grudges. I can say that there is no one that I am angry with. I will tell people what I think and move on.

there is a chinese saying :be severe with onself and lenient towards others.so i always forgive somebody who contradicts me.i know it is no good to me to stay upset towards him.sometims if you forgive someone or get lenient towards others,you will feel easy and comfortable,for you tke others as your friends.i think there is nothing better than that.lol

That is a very beautiful chinese saying: IN our scriptures we have "do not let the sun go down on your anger" meaning: Do not go to bed with anger in your heart towards any individual..
It's nice to see that there is such beautiful wisdom in the Chinese culture;)

I may not be particularly offensive to the person I hold a grudge with, but the grudge will be there, it will never go away-I find it a really difficult thing to forgive and forget-I hope i change in future

I understand..but perhaps if you think that this grudge may be the one thing holding you back from receiving all the graces and blessings God would give you to really make your life much happier..You may think that you could not be happier..but there is a happiness and peace that is known by those who are completely one with God. You can only be one with Him by letting go of all that is not of Him. ..Grudges are not from God.

Hi littlefranciscan! I am a very sensitive person and what I don't like being done to me, I really don't do it unto others. When i get upset on small things, I easily forgive and laugh about it after awhile. But for instance when people tend to do treat me so unkind and then I forgive them for things that they do to me over and over again, I tend to get upset and hold a grudge somehow. I forgive them but sometimes it is hard to do so when they do it to you all the time. I guess, right now I am holding a grudge on one person who makes my life so miserable because she say things that are so unkind but I can't really defend myself because she is very kind on the surface but is very witty and crafty in her wicked ways.
