For me I find I have these odd days where I cannot get motivated in any way. I find it hard to get to the housework enjoying it the way I usually do. I was wondering if anyone else goes through this and what do you do to get that energy.
Thank you in advance for any help =)

hey stacy
it happens to me all the time :) i'm very tired theses days and i can't find the energy to do things i must do, i just want to watch a movie and sleep all the day long... or think.. :)
i don't think there is a solution to this, though i found something: i go swimming, and when I come back to home i'm feeling much better and less depressed and I can enjoy housework :)
Or you can call your friends and do something... The thing is, when you feel like doing nothing, you have to find a way to be motivated or you'll end the day very sad because you didn't do things you had to.
Good day!
PS: forgive my bad english, i don't speak this language very well !

I think for me its more or less just being tired from the previous days or week. I don't feel depressed on those days just tired and lacking energy. One day off of everything sometimes makes me feel much better the next day.

I think everybody has days like that, stacy624. I also believe that every once in a while, it's OK to just do nothing -- to veg out! If, however, one has too many "do nothing" days it can, for obvious reasons, be problematic. Here are a few strategies I use whenever I'm feeling a lack of motivation:
- I focus on the benefits of doing the work or task
- I remind myself that motivation follows action. Oftentimes, once you get started, you're motivation kicks in.
- I remind myself of the biblical verse, "He who sows in tears, shall reap in joy."
Hope this helps! Cheers.

ohhh, yeaaah! Ha! I have a lot of days like that now. I figure, tho, since I'm retired now, I'm entitled to days like that.
I just got through crocheting a bunch of stuff to, hopefully, sell at a crafts show last week. Well, the show was not a tremendous success, and I came home with more than half of what I took with me!
So, I have been letting my hands rest this week by playing on the computer. I love the computer so much that I could stay on it all day long - sometimes do! That's why I think I'm really going to enjoy this website.
As to how you get the energy to do what has to be done, all I can say is to just "get up and get to it"! Make up your mind, when you get up in the morning, that you're going to accomplish a certain amount that day. I think that motivation will help.
Good luck and God bless you!

Yep, that's me. Mondays when I start work at 8.30, Tuesdays when I have to do huge basket of ironing, Wednesdays 'cos it's still half of the week ahead, Thursdays when I do full day at the office, Fridays when I have to do weekly shopping and clean the whole house. Saturdays and Sundays sort of OK, but sometimes Sunday dinner and following washing of a roasting tin depress me to no end.
Trying to do as little as possible, and swap things around.

Sure, I have those too. Sometimes I just get home and wish I was leaving. THere's always something to do at home and I really feel like resting instead.
I sometimes take a day off work here and there . It has to be a week day, when there is no one else home. That way I can really rest.
IF the kids and hubby were home I would end up not resting at all :)
ON those days I tend to sleep a little later, and then read a book or watch tv. I sometimes take a nap and when everyone else gets home I feel much more rested and relaxed.

I feel that way sometimes. It's like I just don't want to do anything. Even eating something. I usually just lie in bed staring at something, mind empty, lost somewhere. I usually try to find something interesting to do but sometimes it doesn't work though. But it doesn't happen everyday so I don't bother much about it.

Hi,there! I think for everybody there's certain time that he/she isn't in a good mood or state. At this time,we are not motivated at all and we'll have the feeling that we have done nothing. When I feel blue,I usually listen to some light music and think about some happy things around me.I can always persuade myself to be optimistic and become delighted.Maybe you can also try to write a diary and express your feelings. That's also a way to let things out:) Hopefully you'll think of the things that can motivate you.Best wishes and have a nice day^_^

Yes, sometimes I just feel like doing nothing. On does days I just watch tv or not even that. Sometimes I feel like spending all the day in bed but then my head hurts so I have to get up. Since I'm myLot member I didn't have those days because when I feel like doing something I just write. Even when I feel like doing nothing I start reading other people posts and at the end I start writing.

Stacy I have no idea! Lol I'm having the exact same day today. I just looked at the clothes and the dishes that all needed to be done and saw my daughter and son fighting and was like I'm crawling back into bed. I can't becuase then no one would be a parent in the house but some days I wish I really could "call in sick" so to speak.

YES! EVERYDAY, LOL. I just get so tired of cleaning and cleaning and cleaning and as soon as the kids walk through the door, it's all messed up again and it's like I didn't do anything at all. It's so frustrating. It takes everything I have to pull myself out of bed some mornings.
As far as the energy thing goes...lots of coffee and good music! :-)

I often have days when I don't want to do anything. It is those days that I tend to get very little done. I have a hard time getting energy or motivation. I would probably sleep these days away if I didn't have a happy, healthy, active 16 month old who makes mommy get up whether she wants to or not! LOL.
