I want one for christmas, but have no clue as to which one. So I thought I'd ask those that have one - what is your favorite and why? I like the ones with the 15-20 second video on them. I need one with a memory stick to take to the store and choose what ones I want or do it on the PC. I know there is something about speed, but don't know what it is. If you have a digital camera, and really like it or really don't like it, could you please tell me your story? I'd really appreciate it. I will be buying 2 - one for me and one for my son. Thanks so much.

I got a Cannon Power Shot. Was easy to handle (some are so small you can't hold it and snap the picture too!) and did all the things I need. I then saw in Consumer Reports that they compared expensive cameras to lower priced ones an they compared the Power Shot ($149) to the Sony .. forget the name, but it was comprable to the Power SHot and cost $500. They said the Power Shot won by a slight margin, but the huge difference in price made it hte best choice. Basically you get the same thing the $500 one has, but only have to pay $149! Mine worked just find at Christmas!

Thanks. I read your discussion. Canon Sure Shot is one of my possibilities and I'll look at Cannon Power shot. My budget is only $100 at the moment, so I might just have to wait awhile! Thanks!

i have a canon powershot a75. it's an old model, about 3years old this upcoming january. meaning it's lasted quite a while and still works nearly perfectly! so i recommend canon when you're looking for brand. it's user friendly and a good brand. i also hear many good things about nikon. those are two good brands to look at.
