Hated foods

When I was a child, I simply hated spinach! While my mom worked, my dad babysat me and often opened a can of spinach, heated it and served that green mess to me. He wouldn't let me eat anything else until I finished that spinach. So I used to take a mouthful of it, run to the bathroom, and spit it in the toilet. This strategy worked for a very short time, as my dad caught on and scolded me. Then I tried sneaking some spinach to the cat, who was sitting under the table. She smelled it and walked away. What food or foods did you hate as a child -- and are you eating them now? (I STILL hate spinach!)

I hated Spinach as a kid and I still do, too! Ew! I also didn't like Mushrooms, onions, or peppers..... and still don't. There are, however, a few foods that I didn't like as a kid that I came to enjoy... and of course, a few things that I liked as a child that I don't enjoy now. I hated asparagus as a kid, but enjoy it now. I was a picky eater as a kid, really. One of my favorite things to eat when I was little was mayonnaise sandwiches, and by that I mean, just bread, American cheese, and mayonnaise. I want to gag when I think about that now!

I hated mashed potatoes as a kid and used to spit them in my napkin. I can eat them now though. My parents really didn't force us to eat anything too terrible. I guess that is because my mom is such a picky eater herself. I am trying all kinds of new foods as an adult because they were never offered to me as a child. I also hated peppers. Red and green bell peppers, I hated them. Now I cook with them all the time. I love them. I still hate raw onion. I don't like any crunch left in the onion. The flavor has to be completely cooked out of it for me to eat it.

I used to hate veggies as well when I was younger. I remember lining the rims of my plate with green and red bellpepper and just eat the meat but before being allowed to leave the table, I'd get forced to eat them anyway. I have no problems eating veggies as a grownup. In fact, I like to have extra servings of veggies than meat. I guess my mothers efforts to have me eat more veggies as a kid paid up since I rarely get sick.

i hate to eat veges when i was a child.when my mom is happy, she will tell me it's for my own good to eat them.while she is in bad mood, then she would impose the veges on me.and no eat,no play.how should i refuse! but now i like the greenstuff for its nutrition, and it tastes good as seasoner.

Acorn squash, liver, and beats. I will never ever serve any of those nasty things to my kids. It's the best thing about not living at home! Ha ha.

When I was younger I just couldn't stand olives. I think that was about the only food - my mum's a great cook and we always at a lot of different sort of food. Very well cultured. But up until last year, I just couldn't stand them. Now? I LOVE olives. I buy them every time I go grocery shopping and have them on all my sandwiches and in every meal I can possibly put them in. =) I guess my mother was right all along "You just have to wait for your taste buds to mature" =P

HAHA,you are so cunning, cute when you are a child. As for me , the same condition too. When we were just little child ,we may not have some right to choose what we like freely. So some parents always impose something on us . We formed a hated-emotion to that things. In my childhood, my father always cooked the vegetable dishes like shallots. I don't like the vegetable for it has a wierd taste , it doesnot cooked very deeply. But we are not in good economic condition,so each meal ,i have to eat the wierd things. From that time , i hate many things linked to this odd taste, like onion, garlic, ginger. But now i cooked for myself sometime. I know they are very good sauce to give the changeable flavoring to the food. Now i like put the garlic sprouts pieces on the fish , put the ginger when cook fish head with bean curd soup , hehe,so yummy they are !
