Because, and I swear, there is only one Holiday, which is CHRISTMAS, where presents are given out. Since when was the last time you gave gifts at Hallween (not Fall Festival), Thanksgiving (not Turkeyfest) or New Year's Eve (not Last Day of Year to Party)?
Tell me, I really want to know.
Why is it the very mention of CHRISTMAS, is so offensive?
Get, OVER, IT!!
If you are not Christian, don't celbrate the birth of Christ. I know Jesus was born in September sometime, don't give or accept gifts, don't spread cheer and your time, don't do anything, especially change CHRISTMAS to holiday.
All this holi(day) business is killing me and America's culture and traditions.
How can this not be an issue with you?
If it is do not support ANY business that changes CHRISTMAS to holiday. They will get the picture real quick.

Wow, bigoted much? Ever heard of Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Yule? Those are all other HOLIDAYS that occur at about the same time. Christian and Atheist are not the ONLY two "religions" in the world. Get over yourself.

Wow, Bigoted, NOT.
Where in my post did I mention the above? Tell me? I really want to know.
Yeah, that is what I thought.
If you read my post in the way in which it was intended, you would see I wanted to know why Christmas is being renamed, "The Holidays".
Let me give you one reason why:
You see, our nation, and our esteemed leaders have "allowed" us to go on our Merry way, using the name of Christ for decades now. Life was good and everything was fine and dandy.
Then, some evil people, inside and outside our government, infiltrated our beloved Christmas and decided to "brainwash" us, the American Masses, and change our lexicon to "Happy Holidays"
It is with evil intent, that anything and all things to do with Jesus and Christ, be removed.
The changing of the American Culture and landacape is, not slowly either, being deterioted, erroded if you will. Our nation's leaders have to ruin our spirit and our faith and love in Jesus.
This, GloomCookieLex, is what I was talking about.
No, I think you were reading too much into my question and the person who needs to get over herself is you.
Just wait, watch and see, our nation and all her cultural aspects are and will be going away. Who then will you be mad at?
Me, on no, not me, you will blame our government. Trust me. It is time to open your eyes, see the truth as it really is. Listen to Alex Jones, Radio Liberty and South West Radio Church Ministries because our national news will not tell you the truth, they are owned lock, stock and barrel by the Rockefellers.

We share christmas with Canada and Britain. Our christmas traditions aren't strictly American.
If you ask me, what's really killing them are the P.C.s. Making Santa skinny and telling him he can't say "ho ho ho" anymore.
"Happy holidays" is respecting all religions, several of which are all in December.
There's the Winter Solstice (which was the original christmas, which being named Yule is, yes, pagan). There's Hanukka (I can't spell tonight! =( ), Kwanza, and others...and for those who don't think about those holidays usually they're thinking of christmas and new years together.
Respecting all holidays in December, especially around or on christmas itself is not a bad thing, and certainly not killing christmas.
I'm not christian. But as a child of a country which typically celebrates the holiday, and having always loved it..I do celebrate it.
I tend to lump it in with my holiday which falls only a few days before Dec 25th.
So, I say Happy Holidays to be respectful. You don't see me butchering Santa with political correctness.
You will see me making christmas cooking, decorating the tree, making snowmen in the front yard, et cetera et cetera.
Now THAT is an american christmas.
