I think it personally depends on each individual child but for me i have been very fortunate enough that i have waited till the right age my sons first movie was the cat in the hat and he was 4 and my daughters first movie was meet the robinsons and she was 2 1/2. and well we attempted to take my son early but he was just to young and so we were hesitant to take my daughter at just over 2 but it turned out well and she has gone to about a dozen movies since . today for instance we saw enchanted soo cute and she loved it then again anything to do with princess's catches her eye. so how about you what age was the right age for your child?? did you take him/her find out it wasnt going to work and tried again much later down the rd???

Hi PrincessMom, there really wasn't any movies my kids were interested in when they were toddlers or around that age. I think both of them would have been all right as far as behaviour and I believe they would have enjoyed the theater experience, so to speak. I really can't remember when we took them first, it was probably around kindergarden age and their grandma took them to see those Disney flicks. They're both teens now and they love movies.

We just took my daughter to her first movie over the summer, she was 4. I think it all depends on your child. Some kids won't be ready to sit down and watch a movie in the theater at 4. I was worried about taking my daughter because she likes to talk and ask tons of questions during movies, but she actually did really well.

I agree, i think it depends on each individual kid, but probably sometime around 4-6. The first movie I was able to stay quiet in was when I just turned 5.

Depends on what movie you're going to watch. Childrens movies are meant for kids to enjoy. If I go to see a kid's movie, then I expect to get interrupted by yelling and screaming kids. If you're going to an adult movie such as War of the Worlds, any child under 13 should be left at home. I went to see that in theaters and some mooooooooooooooo-mie brought her 6 year old and that kid screamed through the whole movie. She started freaking at the beginning when the tripods started vaporizing people and they'd turn into dust. Then it just got worse. I had to get the usher to make the moooooooooooooo-mie and her screaming offspring leave the theater.

well i think it is the again the personal choice.however what i feel that we can show the child specific and simple or animated and educational movie. many cds are in market which have meaning and educational also.so i feel when child can show intreset in cartoon network you can show the movies to child.but uncomplicated and fun movies

actually, I think it depends. if the kids go to watch movies too early the great sound of movies may heart their ears. So it may be good when the kids are in primary schools. Of course, watching movies can be very helpful to them. It can broden thier horizon.
