Love 'ratatouille' and 'happy feet' and all the other animal shows. But let them be animals in the movie. whats the big deal with giving them human characteristics? comes across as blasphemy to me. What do you all think?

I think blasphemy is a strong term. Giving animals human characteristics in movies and tv is almost an entertainment staple. Think about it. Mr Ed "come on Wiiillbbuuur" or in Charlottes web, all the barn amimals talked both in the original and re make.What do u think the story would have been like if they couldn't or didn't have human charateristics. You'd either have a documentary with a narrator like MArch of the Penguins (WONDERFUL film) or something boring just watching bunch of animals walking around.
