Fat Santa or thin Santa?

I was watching the news today and there was a story n a movement to make Santa thin. Supporters of the movement say that Santa should set an example and lose some weight. The news story did say that Santa used to smoke a pipe, but that habit is no longer depicted. Should Santa get a makeover? I don't think it matters whether is thin or fat - one of my favorite Santa was Art Carney who played a "whino" Santa who got fired for drinking on the job - but he found a magic bag and in the end, really turned into Santa - and he was a thin Santa - this was an episode on the Twilight Zone - one that had a happy ending.

i think its political correctness gone mad, its no wonder people like me (fat) get picked on, when we are made to feel abnormal, just because we aren't thin. i think a thin santa would look weird any way

Leave Santa alone!! Santa is for children and I dont think that I have ever heard a child say that they want grow up and be fat, just like Santa. Santa is a character that excites ever child that believes. Most kids dont believe in Santa staring around 9 or 10 years of age. I believe at that time in their life they are focused on other things that are fun. Kids are so selfish these days and believe me, on Christmas day when they have opened their presents, Santa's name wont be mentioned until Oct-Nov and Dec of next year. Why make an issue of something that brings so much joy to the children even though they are selfish?
