I like Frank Peretti, he writes faith based novels but they aren't in you face with faith. I also like Chinua Achebe, Jane Austin and Charlotte Bronte.

Kathy Reichs is very good as an author, her books are the basis of the FOX show, "Bones". Tony Kellerman is another great author, his stories are set in Navajo country focused on a cop, he uses authentic Navajo culture and language in his stories.

What kind of books does Catherine Coulter write? My favorite authors/books are "She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb, "Shopgirl" by Steve Martin (the movie is based on the book, but the book is 100% better), and "The Hundred Secret Senses" by Amy Tan. I also like White Oleander, but can't remember the author's name, again the book is 100x better than the movie (the movie left out about 4 or 5 chapters from the book, which were important to the story).

Catherine Coulter is filled with it all, drama, suspense, romance, mystery. She really covers all the bases. Her FBI series are all really good. Great story lines. I have watched White Oleander but it did feel like there was a lot missing throughout the whole movie. Thanks for the tip I will definately hunt down the book to fill in those missing pieces.
